🎄 **Christmas in July with the Rotary Club of Waikerie!** 🎄
Thanks to Rotarians Carolyn Kleemann and Colleen Andrew, members enjoyed a fantastic night full of laughs at the Waikerie Hotel on Wednesday, July 22.
The meeting room was decked out in full Christmas style, complete with Christmas trees, elves, lights and bon-bons on the tables, including handmade meringue gift packs created by Rotarian Claudi Jacobs.
Carolyn Kleemann and Rob Tonkin were nominated as Best Dressed for Christmas in their colourful Christmas outfits - particularly Rob's lovely red Christmas jumper with from the Waikerie Rotary Op Shop.
After a quick meeting and a fine session, where Brent fined almost everyone in the room, Rotarians put their Christmas knowledge to the test with a fun quiz (and yes — chocolates were awarded!). The Grinch movie played in the background, while members enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner featuring turkey with cranberry sauce, Christmas ham, hot roast veggies, and apple crumble topped with a generous scoop of ice cream.
The night wrapped up with a lively game of Pass the Christmas Parcel, where every Rotarian rolled the dice and took home a surprise Christmas gift.
🎄A wonderful night of fellowship, fun and festive cheer — even in July! 🎅✨
Next meeting Waikerie Rotarians are looking forward to travelling to Renmark for a joint Rotary Meeting at the Renmark Hotel.

Cold nights, wet weather, and plenty of mud didn’t stop the Rotary Club of Waikerie from taking on the major catering role at the 2026 Riverland Enduro. 👏
Many of our volunteers camped out at New Well to support the event from start to finish.
Funds raised from the event will be invested back into local community projects — a true example of service above self.
Thank you to every Rotarian who contributed. It’s always a weekend full of camaraderie and commitment. 👏

The Rotary Club of Waikerie marked a successful year at its 2026 Changeover Dinner at Maggies held on Friday, June 19. The night saw Rotarian Joy Matschoss inducted as 2026-2027 President by Outgoing President Ian Sutton, Paul Harris Fellowships awarded to Alan and Virginia Hillier, and Peter Wilson recognised with the Rex Andrew Award.
The club reflected on a busy year supporting community events, catering, running the Waikerie Op Shop, Snack and Chat Cafe, Waikerie Market and Show 'n' Shine, Waikerie Christmas Pageant, backing youth programs, contributing to global relief through ShelterBox and other programs and so much more.
Our Membership continues to grow, and volunteers were thanked for their dedication and service. A great celebration of what Rotary brings to our community.
Our 2026-27 Rotary International Presidential Message is: Create Lasting Impact, to encourages all of us, as people of action, to work together to make a meaningful difference in our communities and around the world.
