๐ŸŒฟ Will you help support our local wildlife? ๐Ÿพ

Weโ€™re seeking expressions of interest from community members who would like to have nesting boxes installed on their property for native species like possums, phascogales, and bats ๐Ÿฆ‡

These animals are losing natural habitat, and nesting boxes can make a real difference in helping them survive and thrive.

Attention Woody residents! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ Do you have a passion for wildlife and artistry? Join us in our upcoming Flora and Fauna Cataloguing Workshops, which is an artistic and fun opportunity to get up close and personal with our native plants and animals, and create your own artistic catalogue to take home with you. ๐Ÿฆ˜๐ŸŽจ

There will be two workshops for community members, one in the Autumn and one in the Spring. The first Autumn workshop will be Sunday April 19 for the full day. The day will begin with a guided walking tour led by esteemed Botanist and Botanical Artist from Albany, Ellen Hickman, and fauna specialist Gen Harvey. We will then have a catered lunch provided, followed by an afternoon of arts and crafts, compiling our catalogues with what we have seen from the walk.

You can then work independently on your catalogue throughout the Winter, and we will reconvene for our second Spring workshop, date TBD, to add to and finish our catalogues. You can then have the opportunity of displaying your artwork at the Great Southern Bloom Festival at the end of the year! ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŽจ

Hello Wagin and Woodanilling!

My name is Hannah, and I have just taken over the role of Environmental Project Officer at the WWLZ from the talented and amazing Genevieve Harvey.

I am excited to be part of such a great organisation, and to contribute towards protecting and improving our local environment while supporting the communities that make Wagin and Woodanilling such special places.

I look forward to meeting you all and becoming part of the Wagin and Woodanilling community!

2 important messages to share folks.
1 - dont forget to get your survey done to help WWLZ move into the future... landcare is literally in your hands at the moment!
2 - I have resigned. Friday 31st will be my last day. I have loved being part of the WWLZ community and am very sad to be leaving. I will be having a farewell at the Wagin Palace Hotel Thursday 30th from 5pm so if you want to say goodbye come and have a beer or a softie over the bar. Thank you for welcoming me and letting me help you over the last 10 years. Hope to see you next week at the Palace.

Hi folks,

We are currently exploring how best we can serve our community, and to do that correctly we need your input!

We have developed a simple (very short!) survey that we would love if you can take the time to complete which will help us to deliver projects that YOU want to see happening in our area.

Whether you directly access significant funds for fencing and gain free seedlings, or want us to host more pest management activities, or even more community events, or maybe you think we are no longer necessary โ€ฆ. This is where you can let us know.

You can complete directly on line through this link

https://forms.office.com/r/udJfK2Q7Pi

or you can access via the QR code attached. Lastly we will also be distributing a hardcopy version of this to every household in Wagin and Woodanilling with a PO Box, and welcome input from all residents, not just the farmers.

Please help us to help you!

We are seeing far fewer pigs across our control zones this year. After taking out approximately 400 last year along the river systems things have been much quieter for our contractor this year. Please do let us know if you are seeing any pigs or activity on your property to take advantage of this program. Thanks to State NRM this funding has been running for 2 years, with next year our final run. So please do let us know now if you would like to receive some assistance.
