🎡 Happy Wednesday, Brisbane — Ekka week is here!
A big community day out can be brilliant, but crowds, queues, bright lights, noise and unfamiliar surroundings can also take some planning.
The Ekka’s accessibility guide recommends things like creating a visual schedule, watching videos before visiting, packing headphones or a comfort item and identifying quieter places to take a break. Valid Companion Cards can also be presented at the gate for free entry for one accompanying companion.
For NDIS participants, community participation isn’t simply about being present. It’s about having choice, useful access information and the right support to enjoy the experience in a way that works for them.
If you’re heading to the Ekka, what’s first on your list: the animals, showbags, strawberry sundaes or fireworks? 🎠🍓
