Our "Accountability Starts Here - Building the Workforce That Makes Change Possible" session reminded us that often in this sector, the real client isn’t always the person sitting in front of you. It’s the person at home you may never meet.

This session explored the complexity of working with people who use violence, and the balance between holding someone accountable while still building enough connection to do meaningful work. That balance isn’t simple - every person is different, and every situation carries its own challenges.

The conversation also touched on the realities of the work: navigating funding constraints, delivering services in rural areas, and adapting approaches to meet the needs of diverse communities.

STAMPING IT OUT - At first light in Geraldton, high above Chapman Valley, Kyalie Moore stood alone with her tripod, waiting for the sun to rise over Country. She is on a return journey with Boomerang Consultancy
https://bushtv.com.au/stamping-it-out/

A gust of wind knocked it over.
Her phone screen cracked.

For a moment she felt the weight of it.

“I just felt alone,” she says. “And then I corrected myself. No one’s coming to save you. Get up and keep going.”

That is who Kyalie is.

A proud Yamatji Nyarlu.
Counsellor.
Family therapist.
National trainer.
And now she is driving across Australia to Stamp It Out, bringing culturally grounded family violence training into communities that need real tools, not more talk.

Stamping is not aggression. It is cultural memory.
We stamp our feet when we dance.
We stamp our feet when we call in the rain.
We stamp together so the vibration carries across Country.

Kyalie is carrying stories. She is equipping workers. She is engaging men. She is standing with women. She is building systems change face to face.

This is not advocacy from a distance.
This is one woman on the road, prepared, disciplined and committed.

If you believe in culturally led solutions.
If you believe prevention must be visible.
If you believe we can reduce violence together.

Follow her journey.
Walk alongside her.
Read the full story on our website and share it.

Because change does not start in Canberra.
It starts in circles.
It starts on Country.
It starts when we stand together and stamp.
