Congratulations, Smart Pup Lucky!

Today we celebrate Lucky as he officially graduates as a fully trained assistance dog, ready to begin his next chapter supporting a young boy and his family in a small town in New South Wales.

After months of dedicated training, Lucky has grown into a confident and capable assistance dog, ready to provide support, companionship and greater independence to his future young boy.

A heartfelt thank you to Greenbank Services Club, our Gold Sponsor, for supporting Lucky throughout his journey. We were so pleased to have Joel, Heidi and Sarah attend on behalf of Greenbank to celebrate this special milestone with us.

We also extend our warmest thanks to Lucky's foster family, Sharon and Giuseppe, for the love, care and dedication they have given him along the way.

💙🧡 What a day at the Broncos Club Sporties Lunch! 🧡💙

Yesterday, Smart Pups were honoured to be the charity partner of choice at the Broncos Club Sporties Lunch, where an incredible fundraising effort secured a 2026 Smart Pups Puppy Sponsorship.

We were thrilled to announce that the sponsored puppy will be named "Reyno", in honour of Broncos skipper Adam Reynolds. 🐾

The day was filled with inspiring conversations and stories, with guests hearing from Broncos greats and leaders including Darren Lockyer, Dave Donaghy, and Corey Jensen.

We were especially proud to share the stage with our very own Smart Pup Kevvie and Margaret, whose partnership continues to change lives. Sponsored by Broncos Club in 2024, they demonstrated exactly why these life-changing assistance dogs are so important.

Guests also heard the remarkable story of Smart Pup Dozer and the family he was matched with after being sponsored by Broncos Club in 2025.

His family shared how Smart Pup Dozer:

"Comforts her when the world is overwhelming and allows her to experience more than she ever has. This year she has sat through her first movie, managed a full day out with the family, attended a full day of school, and can now fall asleep without being held."

The impact has been so profound that the family is now preparing to travel around Australia in a caravan, confident that each day will bring new adventures and experiences, all made possible through the unwavering support of their best friend, Smart Pup Dozer. ❤️

Smart Pup Marley continues to make fantastic progress as she builds the skills and confidence needed for her future role...

Smart Pup Marley continues to make fantastic progress as she builds the skills and confidence needed for her future role as an assistance dog. Her training has focused on loose lead walking, handler engagement and obedience, with Marley becoming more responsive and connected with her trainer every day.

As her confidence grows, Marley has been introduced to a variety of new environments and everyday distractions, including pet stores, bicycles, wheelchairs, skateboards and the beach. She approaches every new experience with curiosity and confidence, taking each challenge in her stride. Marley has also discovered a love for tracking! During her first introduction to scent work, she eagerly embraced the activity, showing plenty of enthusiasm and a natural willingness to learn.

Her public training adventures have included shopping centres, playgrounds, beaches and local community spaces, helping her become comfortable around the sights, sounds and distractions she'll encounter as a future assistance dog. One of the highlights of the month was a visit to Sea Life, where Marley confidently explored the bustling aquarium, taking in all the new sights, sounds and scents while remaining calm, focused and engaged with her trainer.

We're so proud of Marley's progress and can't wait to watch her continue to grow into a confident, capable and life-changing assistance dog.

Today, we celebrate all dogs and the joy, love and companionship they bring to our lives. But we're giving an extra special shout-out to our incredible Smart Pups.

Every day, these remarkable dogs do more than wag tails and win hearts. They provide independence, confidence, safety and life-changing support to the children and families who need them most.

They're more than assistance dogs, they're trusted companions, confidence builders and everyday heroes. 💙

Come and join us at Smart Pups HQ on Friday 11 September (Noosa Show Day) from 10am - 2pm! Local artist Josh Wright will be painting a live mural and you will have the opportunity to contribute to this dog painting on a giant canvas generously donated by Eckersley's Art & Craft 🐾🥳

There will be a sausage sizzle, merch for sale, behind the scenes tours and puppies to cuddle! Enjoy a fun day out for a good cause!

Smart Pup Luna has been busy training with our team and enjoyed several socialisation outings designed to strengthen her confidence in public environments.

She visited The Ginger Factory and explored the quieter areas of Edmundi Markets, and spent time at Petstock and a local park, remaining calm and focused around children and everyday distractions. Luna also confidently explored the Sea Life aquarium, taking in the many sights and sounds with curiosity, and seemed especially fascinated by the stingrays. Every outing continues to build her resilience, confidence and ability to adapt to new environments.

We're excited to watch Luna continue to grow during her next milestone, where she will transition into our P***n Creek Training Program and we look forward to sharing more about her journey.

A sincere thank you to The Sunny (Sunnybank Community & Sports Club) and Sunnybank Rugby Union Club for supporting Luna's journey. Your generosity is helping provide the specialised training and experiences that will one day enable Luna to make a life-changing difference for a child and their family.

Smart Pup Winnie continues to make wonderful progress as she builds the strong foundations needed for her future role as an assistance dog. She has been developing her heel position, "Watch Me," loose lead walking and "Leave It,"growing more confident and focused with every training session.

A particularly exciting milestone was Winnie beginning her placement at Rockhampton Correctional Centre. Working alongside her dedicated handler, she'll continue strengthening her obedience, confidence and assistance dog skills as she progresses through this important stage of her journey.

Winnie also enjoyed plenty of adventures with her Smart Pups Team, including visits to local shopping centres, parks, the beach and her very first introduction to tracking, which she absolutely loved!

One of the month's highlights was exploring Sea Life, where Winnie confidently worked through busy crowds and unfamiliar surroundings, remaining calm, attentive and connected with her handler throughout the experience.

We're incredibly proud of Winnie's progress and can't wait to watch her continue to learn, grow and take on new challenges in the months ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to Wenty Leagues Club for believing in Winnie's journey. Your support is helping provide the training, care and opportunities that will one day empower a child with greater independence, confidence and a loyal four-legged companion for life.
