A few shots from our Christmas Dinner Saturday night for members, partners and guests. A big thankyou to our Secretary, David, for organising the event and to the many willing hands who brought it to fruition

It is with sorrow that we have to inform you of the passing of our longtime member Doug Grigg this morning. Doug was a long time treasurer of the shed and always ready to put his hand up for any event we were running (although he did have a bit of difficulty with the modern language usage at the Heavy Metal festivals). He and Lynne moved north to the Murray a few years ago to be close to their family but Doug retained his membership of the shed. Once we know the arrangements for his funeral we will keep you informed

Over three weekends, commencing Friday 21 Feb and finishing Monday 11th March, the shed will be occupying one of the Art Cubes at the Venus Bay shops. A display of the arts and crafts by members of the shed and some Magic Lantern stuff, an obsession of the President. Feel free do drop in and admire/purchase some of the magnificent work of our members or just to have a chat

Some of you passing the shed may have noticed the new security system we have recently installed

Hi all the shed is slowly dragging our way into the 21st Century. We now have a webpage. I will try this link and see if it works https://www.vbtlmensshed.au/ That looks OK, enjoy

A place for men to learn, share skills and knowledge and develop social connections with their community in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

The Men's Shed recently supplied some hobby horses at a reduced cost to a charity. The following photo is used with permission from the organiser. Looks like they were well received

This year we again provided a shuttle bus for the Prostate Cancer Charity Drive. Received this lovely email afterwards. A worthy cause and one that comes close to home with many Men's Shed members The Eastern Vic Pleasure harness club and the Southern Cross harness club thank you for your assistance in transporting the drivers back from our campsites for the Prostate Cancer Charity drive. Bill was a great guy and we enjoyed his company. We would also like to thank you for the hand made wooden paddles for the raffle. We had 22 drivers/ Riders from 30 registered participants that couldn't attend due to horse injuries and personal reasons. Funds raised have not yet been calculated but will be close to $9000. This will be donated to the PCFA for research into the treatment and cure of Prostate cancer in men.
“The PCFA is a broad-based community organisation and the peak national body for prostate cancer in Australia. They are dedicated to reducing the impact of prostate cancer on Australian men and people with a prostate, their partners and families, recognising the diversity of the Australian Community.”
