Whilst we were on our way to collect a turtle from a member of the public that was rescued from a busy road ,we came across another one on Littlefields Rd,Mulgoa. This one was stuck & flipped over onto its back & left in the middle of the road. Luckily it only had a hairline crack on its shell. It’s very unusual to be finding them this way during winter. The bit of rain this week has woken a few up.

When a dam or a wetland is getting de-watered on a development site. It’s not just the aquatic wildlife that lose their home. It’s all the birds & other animals that are losing their home too. These water birds are making the most of this situation & are having a great feed before they will have to find a new body of water to call home.

Turtles are still on the move. This boy was rescued from a busy road & handed to us for relocation. It looks like it has been hit by a vehicle in the past as there is a chunk taken out of his shell that has healed. 🐢🐢🐢🐢
