Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Coffs Harbour & Districts has been established since 2005 and is located at Valery Horse Trails and Riding Centre owned and operated by Clarry and Mary Quirk. We are located at Valery Horse Trails and Riding Centre approximately 30 minutes South of Coffs Harbour and about 20mins north-east of Bellingen. Our Centre has many facil
ities available to us trough sponsorship from Valery Horse Trails, such as –the horses that we use, an outdoor arena, loading ramps, wheelchair access from the road, 20 enclosed stables, white post and rail fenced paddocks, swimming pool, BBQ and tea & coffee area. We operate RDA every Tuesday between 9am and 5pm during school terms. Our orientation and training days are held at the beginning of each school term, but don’t worry if you miss them as we welcome volunteers all throughout the year. We are a nonprofit organization and rely on volunteers, fundraising, donations and sponsors. We currently have 20 riders, 1 coach, 4 trainee coaches, 12 horses and not enough volunteers…
Experience with horses is not necessary as there are other activities such as fundraising and administration that you can help with. So come and join us and become a volunteer to assist in providing a chance for people with a disability to “experience horse riding at its best”…
