From discarded fragments, a new self emerges.
Through analogue collage and assemblage, Maggie transforms found and recycled materials into deeply personal works that explore the experience of surviving domestic and family violence, finding a voice after years of silence, and rebuilding a sense of self.
Torn paper, worn surfaces and discarded objects become expressions of resilience, hope and transformation. For Maggie, creativity became a lifeline, a way to process experiences beyond words, reclaim autonomy and begin to heal.
This is an exhibition about more than survival. It is about the courage to rediscover yourself, the power of creative expression and the possibility of finding hope after trauma.
