Coomera Joeys Section Camp 2026!

Over the weekend, our Coomera Joey Scouts headed off to Tamborine Mountain Scout Campsite for some, it was their very first camp!

After setting up camp, the Joeys were straight into their first activity - making their very own tie-dyed dilly bags!

After a quick snack and a hike, the Joeys enjoyed some well-earned free time, giving them the chance to connect, have fun and build friendships with each other.

As the afternoon turned into evening, the campfire was lit and, of course, no campfire is complete without marshmallows!

The Joeys then settled in for a movie and a hot chocolate before it was time for bed.

The next morning, the Joeys were given an important mission: pack up their belongings before breakfast!

Once breakfast was finished, there was time for one final adventure: a bushwalk through the beautiful Tamborine Mountain surroundings.

Once back at camp, it was time to pack up the tents, with our Joey leaders showing the Joeys how it's done!

A huge well done to all our Joey Scouts for embracing the adventure, trying new things, helping each other and making some fantastic memories along the way.

Coomera Scout Group - 2026 Group Camp & World Scout Day

What an incredible weekend!

Over the weekend, our Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts came together for our annual Group Camp, held along the banks of the mighty Brisbane River at the beautiful Allawah Campgrounds.

This year's camp was made even more special as we celebrated World Scout Day, joining millions of Scouts around the globe in recognising the values of friendship, adventure, service and the worldwide Scouting family.

For many of our young people, the weekend was filled with exciting firsts. Some had to set up their tents in the dark after arriving on Friday evening, while others experienced their very first camping adventure and their first time spending two nights away from Mum and Dad. It was fantastic to watch everyone step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, develop new skills and support one another throughout the weekend.

Our youth rotated through four exciting activity zones, including:
🏹 Archery
🎣 Fishing
🪃 Boomerang Making
🎯 Games and Team Challenges

A huge thank you to Ant Marknee and his team for volunteering their time to run the archery activities. Your support helped make the weekend even more memorable for our youth.

The camp was also filled with everything that makes Scouting so special: campfire songs, great food, teamwork, laughter, new friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. By Sunday morning there were certainly some tired faces, but every one of them was accompanied by a smile after an action-packed weekend.

A massive thank you to our incredible volunteer leaders and parent helpers who generously gave up their weekend to make this camp possible. Your dedication and commitment provide opportunities for our young people to grow, challenge themselves and experience adventures they'll never forget.

Here's to another fantastic Group Camp and many more adventures ahead!

What an amazing day for Coomera Joeys and Cubs at Kokoda Games 2026!

Our Joeys and Cubs came together with other groups from across the region for a day packed with fun, teamwork, and adventure. In a sea of blue, our young members tackled a wide range of games and challenges with enthusiasm and determination.

The highlight of the day? The bottle rockets! 🚀 They were once again the standout favourite and had everyone cheering.

From creative problem-solving activities to teamwork challenges, our Joeys and Cubs represented Coomera Scout Group brilliantly and should be very proud of their efforts.

Well done to all of our Joeys and Cubs for a fantastic day of Scouting adventure!

Well, that's a wrap on Term 2 at Coomera Scout Group! 🎉

What an incredible way to finish the term, with every Section heading off on an adventure of their own!

🟢 Scouts bounced into the holidays with an action-packed night at Bounce Gold Coast, burning off every last bit of energy with plenty of laughs along the way.

🟡 Cubs tackled the high ropes at iPlay, stepping outside their comfort zones, conquering fears, and embracing new challenges. It was fantastic to see everyone encouraging one another, showing determination, and having an absolute blast!

🔴 Joeys ventured out on a magical night-time bushwalk in search of glow worms in their natural habitat.
With torches lighting the trail, they reached the cave and switched off their lights. As their eyes adjusted to the darkness, thousands of tiny glowing lights appeared, creating an unforgettable experience.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing youth members, leaders, volunteers and families for another fantastic term full of adventure, learning and fun.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday break, and we can't wait to see you all back for Term 3 and even more exciting adventures!

A few weeks ago, the call went out from the Water Activities team for a small group of Cubs to assist leaders in training as they completed their snorkel guide assessments. Coomera Scout Group were quick to put their hand up!

After a couple of weather delays and location changes.… today was finally the day.

Despite the cooler water, our Cubs jumped in with enthusiasm and had an absolute blast, helping these leaders complete an important part of their training. A fantastic experience all around - well done to everyone involved! 👏
