Last night something awesome happened at Scenic Rim Toastmasters, I was awarded my DTM (Distinguished Toastmasters) recognition. My Club members threw a surprise party for me and presented me with a lovely pot of white Tuscan Lavender for the garden... they know me so well!
Our President Trish Scott was awarded her Triple Crown pin for completing three levels of our Education platform Pathways in a twelve month period and Christine Lennon and I were presented with Certificates for coordinating a workplace Speechcraft course over the last six weeks for Mainfreight Logistics.
The icing on the cake is we had three guests to share it all with who are looking to join us on their very own Toastmasters journey.
Seven years ago when I joined Toastmasters with a pathological fear of speaking in public I would never have imagined how far it would take me personally, professionally and in a leadership capacity.
Don't let fears and phobias hold you back from living your best life. PM me if you are interested in coming along as my guest to our next meeting on the 19th September at the School of Arts in Canungra.
