Are you ready to make your sporting club safer?

Round 56 of the South Australian Government’s Active Club Program is now open, offering local sporting clubs grants of up to $1,500 or $3,000 through the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing.

The funding is available specifically for:

• Medical equipment (such as life-saving defibrillators and fully stocked club first aid kits)
• First aid training to ensure your coaches, volunteers, and players have the skills to respond in an emergency
• Whether your club needs a new AED, first aid restocks, or training for your team, St John SA is here to help you choose the right package.

What a fantastic weekend at the South Australian Youth First Aid Competition!

Young first aiders from across South Australia came together to put their first aid, leadership, teamwork and practical skills to the test across a range of categories, including first aid scenarios, the Wright Trophy and Food Tray Competition.

Congratulations to everyone who competed across the categories. Your hard work, commitment and preparation were clear to see.

A special thank you to our dedicated Youth Leaders, who volunteer their time to support and mentor our young people, including running extra practices and training to help prepare them for competitions.

Our CEO, Steve Morris, was proud to present the awards and celebrate the achievements of our young first aiders.

Well done to everyone involved in making the competition such a success!

Every day, our not-for-profit organisation works to make South Australia healthier and safer.

As an Operational Support Volunteer with St John SA, you’ll work alongside a team to prepare vehicles, equipment and supplies for events and operational activities across South Australia.

Good news for older South Australians and for the staff and volunteers who support them.

The Australian Government has extended the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) through to 30 June 2029.

For the people who use our Community Care services, this support is about much more than getting from A to B. It means staying connected with friends, attending appointments, taking part in activities and continuing to enjoy the community around them.

The extension provides welcome certainty and helps organisations like St John SA continue supporting older people to remain independent and live life on their terms.

We are proud of the difference our Community Care volunteers and staff make every day and grateful to everyone across the aged care sector whose advocacy helped secure this important outcome.
