Ladies Sewing Circle had a lovely social morning at the Buderim Craft Cottage earlier this month.

Great company, yummy food, and we managed to sew up quite a few “absolutely necessary” sewing bargains!

A perfect day of stitching, chatting, and adding just a few more treasures to our stashes. 🧵✂️

As winter approaches, we’re getting ready in the best way we know how — stitching with purpose. It’s time for Beanies for the Needy, and our needles are busy creating warm, cozy hats to share with those who need them most.

Each beanie is made with care, love, and the hope that it brings comfort during the cold months ahead. Simple stitches can make a big difference, turning yarn into warmth and kindness. Together, we can help ensure that no one faces the winter chill alone. Let’s keep crafting and giving!

Month 2 of our mystery quilt is officially underway, and the excitement is building! With the next set of clues revealed, creativity is truly in full bloom. Fabrics are coming together in unexpected and beautiful ways as we stitch each block, watching our mystery design slowly begin to take shape.

It’s inspiring to see the different color choices and unique touches everyone brings to their work. No two blocks are exactly alike, and that’s part of the magic. As we continue piecing and pressing, the anticipation grows — what will the full quilt reveal in the end? Stay tuned, keep stitching, and enjoy the journey!

Working together as a creative and supportive collective, the Ladies Sewing Circle has proudly contributed to the current exhibition at the Bribie Island Community Arts Centre.

United by a shared passion for sewing, textiles, and craftsmanship, our members meet regularly to exchange ideas, develop new skills, and encourage one another’s artistic growth.

The pieces on display reflect the rich diversity of talent within our group. From intricate hand stitching and detailed embroidery to imaginative quilting and contemporary textile design, each work represents not only individual creativity but also the spirit of collaboration that defines our circle.

Together, we celebrate tradition, innovation, and the joy of creating — values that are beautifully expressed through this exhibition.

Thank you to our wonderful sewers!

A huge thank you to the Ladies Sewing Circle for their generous donations of blankets, toiletries, and the most adorable teddy bears!

These thoughtful gifts will go directly to families experiencing domestic and family violence in the Moreton Bay region, bringing comfort and care when it’s needed most.

Our Mystery Project for 2026 is an Applique quilt .

Participants will be given 2 block patterns each month for ten months. The applique method used is up to the individual but most participants are trying an applique method that they have not done before.

This years Mystery Project is perfect for using up scrap fabrics that fill our sewing rooms.

The quilts should be finished in time for the 2027 Showcase exhibition at the The Bribie Island Community Arts Centre

See you in 2026!

Ladies Sewing Circle is held every Tuesday at the Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

You’re very welcome to attend for the whole day or just part of it—whatever suits you best!

Cant make Tuesdays? We also have a project group that meets on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month same time and location.
