Ulverstone Surf Life Saving Club Fostering Aquatic Safety, Community, Lifesaving Excellence & Surf Sports since 1928. We also provide water safety for special events in our region.

Our club has a long history and has served the Ulverstone community since 1928. The club is a great place for kids to learn valuable life saving skills and develop life long friendships. USLSC provides scheduled life saver patrols on Buttons Beach, Ulverstone, between December and March of each summer, and deploys roving patrols to nearby areas. Our qualified Trainers and Assessors improve the ski

lls of our member volunteers through organised training sessions and courses. These services are also available by request to organisations, businesses and community groups who require these skills

The clubhouse is a sought after venue in prime location for weddings, celebrations, corporate events and private functions, with complete bar facilities, commercial kitchen and catering facilities, and audio-visual capabilities. We have plentiful free car parking, disabled access (a lift provides access to our upper level) and magnificent views over Bass Strait.

The WYC Winter Series has officially wrapped up! ๐Ÿ›ถ

The series consisted of three races at Ulverstone, Wynyard and Devonport, finishing with the Tasmanian Paddling Championships at Lake Barrington.

Sunday 30th August saw the 10km Tasmanian Paddling Championships, with some great results from our Ulverstone SLSC crew:

๐Ÿฅ‰ Julian Herm โ€“ 3rd in Over 40s Male
๐Ÿฅ‰ Melissa Flynn โ€“ 3rd in Over 50s Female
๐Ÿฅ‡Isabella Airy - 1st in Junior Female

Hamish managed to win every single race of the Winter Series โ€” a pretty impressive effort! ๐Ÿ‘

Caitlin Herm and Kelly Angilley also participated in Winter Series #1 at Ulverstone. Itโ€™s been great to see more of our club members getting involved in ski paddling over the winter.

Surf Life Saving Tasmania has launched a fantastic program to help women, youth and young adults from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds build swimming skills, water confidence and safety knowledge. The program kick off this month with weekly sessions at five pools across the state, including Devonport and Burnie, before moving to beach sessions when the water warms up!

A great step towards safer and more inclusive communities.

A significant Ulvie contingent helped to fill the paranaple Centre on Saturday night for SLSTโ€™s night of nights.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to celebrate the ๐‡๐š๐ณ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ• ๐Œ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐™๐ž๐ซ๐จ ๐๐ข๐  ๐’๐ฐ๐ข๐ฆ being recognised with the ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐„๐ง๐ ๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›
Held back in February, this event was a brilliant example of what can happen when ๐œ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ are ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ž๐ง๐ ๐š๐ ๐ž volunteers, businesses and the wider community to ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ๐ ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐›๐ž๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐š ๐ฌ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ž.

This award is really about the ๐ฉ๐ž๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž who made it happen:

โ€” the water safety crews who kept everyone safe,
โ€” the club members who brought the idea to life,
โ€” Hazell Bros and other sponsors for getting behind it,
โ€” and every swimmer, supporter and donor who played their part.

Itโ€™s a perfect example of ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ž๐ง๐ ๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: when a club opens its doors, the community gets behind an idea, and everyone contributes what they can, the result can be genuinely exceptional. ๐Ÿค

Thanks to the incredible support of our community through the 357 โ€“ Mission Zero Big Swim, weโ€™re bringing one of our young club membersโ€™ ideas to life!

Funds raised through the campaign will help transform the side wall of the Ulverstone Surf Life Saving Club with vibrant artwork celebrating our beach, our volunteers and the important message of beach safety.

The artwork was inspired by the 357 โ€“ Mission Zero campaign, which raised awareness of the 357 lives lost to drowning in Australian waters and supported Surf Life Saving Australiaโ€™s Mission Zero initiative.

๐Ÿ”Ž Now, weโ€™re looking for a talented local artist to help bring the vision to life.

Weโ€™re seeking expressions of interest from artists who can:
๐ŸŽจ Develop an original artwork design
๐Ÿ–๏ธ Work with us on a concept suitable for Central Coast Council approval
๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Create the artwork using quality materials suited to our coastal environment

Weโ€™d love to see examples of your work, hear your ideas and receive an indicative quote.

๐Ÿ”ด๐ŸŸก๐Ÿ”ด๐ŸŸก Huge congratulations to Ulverstone SLSC Life Member, Julian Moore for being recognised, alongside members of the Surf Life Saving Tasmania Flood Rescue Team for the response to the devastating NSW floods in 2022.

At the SLST Awards of Excellence dinner, Julian and the team were presented with the NSW Premierโ€™s Flood Emergency Citation, recognising the contribution of emergency service personnel who responded to the floods.

The team also received the SLSA Rescue Medal (Surf Life Saving Australiaโ€™s highest recognition for a rescue), for their excellence in lifesaving and service delivery while on deployment to NSW.

Congrats to you and the team, Julian! Well deserved.
