🎉 OFFICIALLY OPENED – BUILT FOR GENERATIONS TO COME! 🎉
Today was a pretty special day at Camp Clayton as we officially opened our new Tower High Ropes and Sky High Challenge Course!
It was wonderful to welcome Felix Ellis MP and former MP Miriam Beswick to Camp for this milestone. Both played an important role in making this project possible through the Tasmanian Government’s funding commitment during the 2025 State Election.
We are genuinely grateful for their support, their belief in what we do at Camp Clayton and their willingness to invest in opportunities for young Tasmanians.
And what a day to celebrate it!
Right in the middle of our school holiday day camps, with children running around Camp, laughing, playing and making memories. Many of them are still a little too young for these bigger teenage adventures, but that’s what makes this project so exciting.
They’re growing up, and Camp Clayton is growing with them! ❤️
One day, those same children will be climbing this tower, navigating the high ropes, facing their fears and discovering they’re capable of more than they imagined.
There was something particularly special about seeing the sons and daughters of some of the people who helped bring this project to life out on the course today. A lovely reminder that this project is about so much more than the work that has gone into building it. It’s about the next generation getting to experience and enjoy what so many have worked hard to make possible.
And we have to give Miriam a special mention for being willing to give part of the course a go herself! 😂👏
Because ultimately, this is what today was all about.
Not just a new High Ropes. Not just another activity.
It’s about creating opportunities for young people, not just today, but for generations to come.
Whether through school camps, community groups or our own ministry programs, these facilities will help young people build confidence, develop resilience, encourage one another and create memories that stay with them long after they leave Camp.
A heartfelt thank you to Felix, Miriam, the Tasmanian Government, our contractors and everyone who has played a part in bringing this project to life.
We may have officially opened it today, but the real stories are only just beginning! ❤️
