SCOUT leader urgently needed for 11-15 year olds!

DO YOU LIKE WORKING WITH YOUNG PEOPLE ?
DO YOU LIKE BEING OUTDOOR & ADVENTEROUS ACTIVITIES?
If the answer is yes -

Venturers 15-18 years

🌿🎶 WE KNOW A GREAT COMMUNITY EVENT WHEN WE SEE ONE…

At MUCK Up, we're pretty passionate about creating events that give people a reason to get out, come together, try something new and connect with their community.

So when we see another local group doing exactly that, we're more than happy to help spread the word. ❤️

This Sunday 4 October, the Ulladulla Milton Lions Club is taking over Lions Park, Burrill Lake for The Brill Gathering – a huge day of live music, activities, food, workshops and community connection from 11am–10pm.

And there's another important reason for the Gathering.

It's an opportunity for the community to explore and have their say on the masterplan for the future of Lions Park – helping shape what this fantastic community space could become.

There is HEAPS happening throughout the day:
🎸 Live music from 11am into the evening – including Rusty & The Bucketheads, fresh from winning our inaugural MUCK'ed Up Talent!
🎶 A second stage showcasing local talent
🛹 Skate and bike workshops
🏀 Basketball
💃 Dance and movement activities
♟️ Chess and Scouts activities
🐕 Dog demonstrations
🌿 Treading Lightly community clean-up
🎨 Art, sculptures and community displays
🎠 Kids rides and activities
🍔 Plenty of local food
🛍️ Market stalls
❤️ And lots more.

You can pop in anytime – stay for an hour or settle in for the day.

We're super proud to help the Lions Club promote this one. Community events don't happen without people willing to put in the work to create them, and this looks like a pretty special day for Burrill Lake.

Today is INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SIGN LANGUAGES.

Our Cubs spent Thursday night learning why sign language is important in our community.

Ania joined us, and taught our Cubs how to spell their names, have a basic conversation, like good morning /afternoon, please and thank you and how to say their emotions when asked how are you.

The Cubs signed Thank you to Ania and returned to their patrols.

We finished the night with a game to understand more on how language as a whole is important.
Patrol leaders drew a picture and then slowly gave instructions to their patrol on what to draw. Seeing if they could describe their image with enough detail that it could be replicated.

Big thanks to Ania, we will be using this in our everyday skills.

Cubs have had a busy couple of weeks....
2 weeks ago, with a quick change of plans they visited Fire and Rescue NSW Station 477 Ulladulla and met with Jules and Pete, who happily showed them around the Truck, the gear and the station, even testing their skills with the firehose.

The cubs were shown knots they use in the Firestation, alot of which the cubs have been learning over the last couple of weeks!

Thanks Jules and Pete for taking us on such short notice, you can see they clearly enjoyed it!!!

Our Joey's visited Marine Rescue Ulladulla tonight, touring their boats UL20 and MR30 and taking a sneak peak at WP11 -Nemesis, that is currently sitting in Ulladulla Harbour.....OVER.

Heading inside, they learnt about the control centre and had a practice of how to talk through radios to contact Marine Rescue is they're stuck at sea. Learning key words, Mayday, Over and Out- the importance of their location and of course life jackets. .... OVER.

We thank the volunteers, for keeping us safe in boats, and showing our youngest scouts around! ..... OUT.
