📣 ONE WEEK LEFT TO HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE FUTURE OF THE TWEED

There’s still time to provide your feedback on Tweed Shire Council’s Draft Growth Management, Housing and Employment Strategy – but submissions close next Monday 31 August.

This strategy will help shape where and how the Tweed grows over the next 15 years, including housing, development, infrastructure and the future character of our communities.

🏡 Tyalgum’s voice should be part of that conversation.

📝 Read the draft and complete Council’s online survey here:
https://www.yoursaytweed.com.au/growth

⏰ Have your say by 4pm Monday 31 August.

It only takes a little time to provide your feedback – and this is an important opportunity to have input into the future direction of our village, district and wider Tweed.

The community is invited to provide feedback on how the Tweed's growth will be managed over the next 15 years.

🗺️ TYALGUM TOOK A WALK ACROSS THE TWEED!

Yesterday the Tweed BIG Map took over the floor of the Tyalgum Community Hall, giving local residents and students the chance to literally step onto our region and explore it from a whole new perspective.

The enormous 15m x 10m map sparked plenty of conversation as people found their homes, roads, waterways and familiar landmarks, while also looking at our landscape through the lens of local hazards, preparedness and community resilience.

It was wonderful to see people getting down on the map, pointing things out, sharing local knowledge and discovering just how interconnected our district really is.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, and to all involved in bringing this fantastic free community experience to Tyalgum.

There’s nothing quite like seeing the Tweed laid out beneath your feet! 🗺️👣🌿

🌭 Thank you to everyone who joined us at yesterday's Resilience Tyalgum Community Day!

It was a great opportunity to catch up with neighbours over a free sausage sizzle, enjoy some delicious homemade treats from the cake stall, and learn more about the work of Resilience Tyalgum.

Throughout the morning, our Area Coordinators successfully tested the community radio network and met to discuss logistics and communication procedures, helping ensure our local resilience network continues to be well prepared should it ever be needed.

The event also gave Tyalgum Futures the opportunity to showcase its proposed projects and ideas for the village. Community members were invited to view the display and vote on the initiatives they felt were most important for Tyalgum's future.

🎟️ Congratulations to all of our raffle winners, and thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and supported the fundraising efforts.

A sincere thank you to all of our volunteers, the Resilience Tyalgum team, everyone who donated their time, and those who came along to support the day. Every conversation, idea and connection helps build a stronger, more resilient Tyalgum community. 💚
