📚✨ Last week at Homebase Playgroup, we celebrated Book Week with a morning full of stories, creativity and dress-ups!

From firefighters and police officers to fairy wings and beloved book characters, imaginations were on full display 🧚‍♀️

Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and the important role stories play in helping children learn, grow and connect. Thank you to all the families who joined us for the fun! 📚

🚗 Volunteer Drivers Needed – Help someone get their licence 🚗 Got a couple of hours a week spare and want to make a real difference?

Homebase’s Driver Licensing Access Program (DLAP) is looking for volunteer driver mentors to help learner drivers build the hours they need for their Ps in the MidCoast.

We’ve got the car, fuel and insurance sorted — we just need you 🙌

As a volunteer driver, you’ll help someone:
🚦 Build confidence behind the wheel
🪪 Work towards getting their licence
💼 Access work, education and everyday opportunities

What you need:
🚗 A full driver's licence
🧘 A bit of patience
⏰ A couple of hours spare each week

We’ll support you with your WWCC and provide a professional driving lesson before you get started.

This is simple, practical support that can genuinely change someone’s life.

We always have fun when Playgroup heads to the park! 🌳

Last Thursday, our Playgroup friends and families spent the morning at Tuncurry Rockpool Park, enjoying the playground, sharing morning tea and spending time together outdoors. There were plenty of smiles and a few brave faces on the slide 🤣

Thanks to the families who joined us for another great Playgroup adventure.

📣 Playgroup Update 📣 Playgroup won't be running tomorrow (Tuesday 11 August), as our team will be offsite participating in a program for the day. Thursday's playgroup will run as usual! 🧡

On Tuesday, we had an awesome time celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day at Tobwabba Aboriginal Medical Service! 🖤💛❤️

Our Homebase team joined local children and families for a day full of fun, bringing along sand art that was a huge hit with the kids 🎨✨ One of the highlights was a large community artwork led by a local artist, with everyone adding their own touch to create something really special 🌟

A big thank you to Tobwabba AMS for hosting such a great event. We loved being part of it and seeing so many smiling faces 😊🙌

Our Great Lakes and Manning Youth Homelessness Service (GLAMYHS) team will be joining Home in Place, Samaritans, CatholicCare Hunter-Manning, Forster Neighbourhood Centre Inc., MidCoast Council, Mission Australia, Wesley Mission, NSW Police Force and other local organisations to support these community events during Homelessness Week 💜
