Laurianne returned to the area over the weekend with members of her family, eager to revisit the place where they had lived and worked almost 40 years ago.

Having never learned to ride a bike, Laurianne and her family contacted the triobike volunteers so she could enjoy the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail alongside her family 🚴‍♀️.

The ride exceeded all expectations. Surrounded by the ever-changing scenery, Laurianne said she “felt like a queen” 👑 as she rolled along the trail, taking in views she never imagined she would experience this way.

Laurianne sends a warm hello to anyone who might remember her from those earlier days here. During the ride, she shared many familiar names and fond memories with pilot Grant and support rider Debbie.

The whole family had a wonderful time and were deeply grateful for the free service provided by the volunteers.

Thank you to Laurianne, Michaeli, Owen and John for sharing such a joyful ride on a superb day ☀️.

It was a fun morning taking some of the residents from Tumbarumba Aged care centre for a ride around the park, as part of Seniors Week. Thanks to the staff for organising a great day out.

We hope to be able to share photos of some of the happy faces after we get approval. In the meantime here are a few shots of the triobikes with pilots Grant, Rob and Garry, and triobike support person Debbie (taking photos).

The triobikes will be at the Tumbarumba Show on 21 & 22 March for those who have mobility issues in getting around the Showground.

Remember rides are free and you can book by emailing [email protected], we’ll hopefully be able to help you ride the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail at some stage.

It's our 5th birthday today! Can you believe that we had to open the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail virtually due to Covid restrictions?

We had big plans for the day but in the end it had to be a series of video messages from our volunteers, supporters and friends and opened from afar by Justin Clancy MP.

In those five years our lives have all changed and although at first only locals could use the rail trail due to travel restrictions, we have since welcomed many many thousands to our region.

As volunteers we've planted trees, and more trees, we've celebrated our unofficial opening a year later in 2021 with a family funday, planted more trees, been approved as a marathon distance, hosted a marathon (organised by a team from Wagga and SVC), welcomed the Snowy Valleys Cycle challenge each year, had the Men's Shed and Historical Society members built a Fettler display at Rosewood, the Men's Shed also rebuilt the sidings at Rosewood and Glenroy, welcomed the 50000th riders at the Tumbarumba and Rosewood counters, witnessed the amazing job of the Men's Shed and other groups collaborate to renovate the railway carriage and move it into place at the trail head - just a few of the happenings over the years!

Our volunteer committee have worked with staff from Snowy Valleys Council, and many volunteers Men's Shed, Historical Society, Rotary with their triobikes, local schools, Tumut Rotary - just to name a few.

We're proud of our achievements!

Thanks you to everyone who has been a supporter, a visitor, a helper over the past five years - you have made our first rail trail in NSW (on government land) a huge success and we couldn't be happier to be the pilot.

Thanks too for supporting our local businesses in dark times and good.

Feel free to share your favourite stories or photos of your time on our rail trail, and we hope to see you again in the future.

It was great to have all three triobikes out for a ride in the park today, with the elderly residents from the local aged care facility. They all loved their rides around the oval, over the road to the showground and through the park. So many happy faces!

Thanks to pilots Garry, Rob and Grant for the fun rides and Debbie as support. Well done to staff and helpers for the fabulous opportunity on such a beautiful day.

(Note: We can’t show you photos of their happy faces until approval is given).

Reminder that rides are all free and can be arranged by emailing:
