We often get questions in Twilight when there is rain about game cancellations.

Please also remember there is a $50 forfeit fee that applies for any forfeits that occur with less than 24 hours notice from your game time.

TNA is excited to welcome back Senior Netball to our Courts starting tonight!

After almost 30 years missing from TNA senior ladies returns and TNA is facilitating our first senior mixed competition.

This is super exciting and all due to the completion of our lighting project which was supported by Latrobe City Council, Netball Victoria, Sport and Recreation Victoria and the Victorian Government.

We are excited to watch this space grow!

PLAYER REGISTRATIONS –
ATTENTION TEAM DELEGATES!

Please DO NOT copy the registration link sent by TNA to send it directly to your players. That link is for TEAM level registration only.

There is an important process to follow so your players are correctly linked to your team in Netball Connect.

🔹 STEP 1 – REGISTER YOUR TEAM
Team Delegates ONLY use the link provided by TNA in the email to register your TEAM.

🔹 STEP 2 – ADD YOUR PLAYERS
Once your team is registered, the Team Delegate adds the players to the team (this can also be done during the initial team registration process)

When you submit your player list on Netball Connect, each player will receive a team-specific invitation to register.

This process ensures your players are correctly connected to your team and will appear on the weekly score sheets. ✅

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
🔹 Delegates can check their own team – You can see who has registered and follow up any players before Round 1.
No need to contact TNA — the information is right there in the app!

🔹 Players can arrive for Round 1 ready to play – Get the boring admin sorted early so players know their registration is correct and they can take the court without any issues.

🔹 Incorrect registrations create problems – If players register using the wrong link, they may not be correctly registered to a team and could risk being unable to take the court.

🔹 It creates a LOT of extra admin for TNA – Each week we can spend hours trying to identify incorrectly registered players and work out which team they actually belong to, then manually linking them in the system.

👉 Please follow the detailed instructions in the email carefully and complete the registration process in the correct order.

🏐 GRADING COMPLAINTS — BEFORE YOU HIT SEND…

❓ Have you considered everything that goes into the grading puzzle before flicking through a complaint?

We completely understand that families and teams have individual circumstances and preferences. But before assuming a decision was made without consideration, here’s a little insight into what the committee is trying to balance:

🔹 80+ teams
🔹 750+ players
🔹 39 games
🔹 10 courts per timeslot
🔹 82 umpire allocations
🔹 21 umpires required per timeslot
🔹 Around 75% of umpires also play
🔹 Time restrictions due to lighting and local housing
🔹 Major team changes since winter - same team name doesn’t necessarily mean same players
🔹 New teams and new combinations — we have reviewed and analysed every team list
🔹 A small committee giving up an entire night to make the competition work for ALL players, around their own work and family commitments.

And with all of that to juggle, the reality is:

🔹 Someone will have to play at 4.30pm or 7.45pm
🔹 Someone will have to play around dinner time.
🔹 Someone will clash with another sport or commitment.
🔹 Someone won’t be happy with the grade they’re placed in.
🔹 Someone will have both their children playing at the same time — even our President! 😅
🔹 Some teams won’t get their preferred timeslot.

…and the list goes on.

If we could make it perfect for all 750+ players, we absolutely would. Trust us — we spend hours trying.

Every decision is made by people who:

🔹 Have had children of different ages — we understand meal times, homework and bedtime.
🔹 Have umpired these players.
🔹 Have coached.
🔹 Work full-time.
🔹 Parent.
🔹 Volunteer.
🔹 Have children with multiple commitments.
🔹 Have 5+ years of grading experience on the committee.
🔹 Regularly sacrifice our own needs to help make the competition work.

We don’t make decisions to upset people. We make them with the whole competition in mind — not just one player, one team or one age group.

🏐 No committee = no competition.
🏐 No umpires = no competition.

Questions are always welcome. We’re happy to explain the process and listen to genuine concerns.

But please remember there are real people behind the emails, grading, draws and decisions — people who are giving their time because they care about the competition and the kids playing in it.

Think before you hit send.
Ask questions. Be respectful. Be kind. ❤️🏐

U15s State Titles Team trial information is here. Check our earlier post about your eligibility. However if you play at TNA, NGFNL, MGFNL, TFNC and Morwell FNC this is your region and you qualify.

🏐 2027 15&U COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

East Gippsland Netball Region is excited to announce Samira Heffernan as one of our 15&U Co-Coaches for the 2027 State Titles campaign! 💚💙

Samira brings plenty of coaching and playing experience to our Region. She is currently part of the GSA coaching team, coaches the 15&U squad at M&DNA, and is player-coach of the A Grade team at YYNFNC.

Samira is also a Community Coach with Netball Victoria, delivering coaching through Train Like a Vixen clinics and various school netball clinics.

We’re excited to have Samira joining our 15&U program and know our young athletes will benefit from her experience, enthusiasm and passion for developing junior netballers.

And as you may have noticed… Samira won’t be doing it alone! 👀

We are currently finalising the details of our second 15&U Co-Coach, with another announcement coming soon. Stay tuned!

WHAT TO WEAR

• Black/dark shorts
• Plain white top
• Suitable netball shoes

🚫 No club colours or representative gear

All trials are outdoors, so please come prepared for the predicted weather and bring a drink bottle and a positive attitude.

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT

Successful teams will be announced via the East Gippsland Region page on 30 October 2026.

SELECTED ATHLETES

Players selected to represent East Gippsland Region are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions, pay all fees levied by the Region and commit to representing East Gippsland Region at the 2027 Netball Victoria State Titles in Bendigo, 6–8 March 2027.

🏐 2027 17&U COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

East Gippsland Netball Region is excited to announce Traci Grogan & Katelyn van Doeselaar as our 17&U Co-Coaches for the 2027 State Titles campaign! 💚💙

Both Traci and Katelyn are certainly no strangers to our Region, having given many years of service to East Gippsland netball and bringing plenty of coaching experience with them.

This season, Katelyn has coached the Wy Yung 15&U team as well as the Bairnsdale Netball Association 15&U representative team, while Traci has been coaching the Heyfield FNC 17&U team. Both have also enjoyed personal success, along with a great deal of team success, throughout the year.

Our 17&U girls are very lucky to once again have these two at the helm. Their experience, knowledge of our players and commitment to developing netball across our Region will be a great asset heading into 2027.
