Farewell Chloe 🫡

10/09/2026

Today is R U OK? Day. A reminder that you don’t need to have the perfect words, be a counsellor, or know how to fix someone’s problems to check in.

Sometimes it’s just: “Hey, you’ve seemed a bit off lately. R U OK?”

And if the answer is “not really”, then listen. Sit in the mud with them. Check in again. Help them find some support if they need it. It might save a life.

Because we’re all going through something, even if you can’t see it.

So today, check in with your mates. Give someone a call. Check in with the person who’s always checking in on everyone else. And while you’re at it, ask yourself the same question:

R U OK? 💛

In the afternoon after Chloe's Baden-Powell Scout Award Presentation, it was time to say farewell.
The Crew gathered with select friends and family for Chloe's boot, a traditional ceremony with a rich history.

After being with Florence Bay Rovers for the full 8 years, facing numerous challenges, and coming out the other side, it's time for Chloe to turn the page and start the next chapter of her life.

We all wish Chloe well on her next adventure as she paddles her canoe beyond the horizon. Farewell, Chloe ⚜

Last weekend, Chloe was officially presented with her Baden-Powell Scout Award, the highest achievable award for youth members.

Chloe's been a Rover with Florence Bay for 8 years, all the while working towards her BPSA. She worked through significant setbacks and stuggles like Covid-19 and as a result, the Crew becoming dormant. But with enough determination and support in the final few months, Chloe was able to achieve this milestone.

Current Rovers, Chloe's family and friends, and supporters from her Scouting career came together to help celebrate by sharing stories and photos from her 20 years as a youth member.

We’d like to once again say BRAVO to Chloe for achieving this award.

It’s an honour to be a part of this wonderful movement, to be able to assist and serve our Scouting community, and to set the standard for our youth members across the region 🎉
Thank you to all of our leaders who continue to support our youth volunteers, so that we can continue to support those around us ❤️

In 2026, Scouts Australia celebrates 80 years of Venturer Scouts in Australia. Florence Bay Rovers recently had the pleasure of attending Bivouac Junction with Kennedy Region Scouts Venturer Scouts and joined in the “80 Years of Venturers” celebrations by helping with some activities and DJing for the 80s disco! 🪩🕺
These Venturers will eventually become our Rovers, and it was a great weekend of fun for all of us! 🥳
Happy Birthday Venturers!! 🎉

International Friendship Day ☀️

Some of life’s greatest friendships are the ones you never expected to find. The people who celebrate your wins, sit with you in the mud (literally and metaphorically!), help carry you through the hard days, and leave every chapter of your life a little brighter, are often the ones worth holding onto. ♾️❤️

Happy International Friendship Day to all of our Scouting friends near and far, and to the friends that became family, thank you! ❤️⚜️
