NQ Art Teacher’s Junior Exhibition at the Townsville Artist Market 🎨

We’re excited to host the NQ Art Teacher’s Junior Exhibition at this Saturday’s Townsville Artist Market — a vibrant showcase of artworks created by talented students from Grade 10 and below.

This exhibition celebrates the imagination, skill, and dedication of young artists across Townsville, shining a light on the exceptional work being nurtured in our local classrooms.

Visitors will have the chance to explore a diverse collection of paintings and sculptures; creative expressions that highlight the unique perspectives of our region’s budding artists. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support youth creativity and acknowledge the teachers who inspire and guide these students every day.

Join us at the Heritage Centre to celebrate the next generation of Townsville artists — their creativity is something truly special.

TOWNSVILLE SHOW JUNIOR FINE ARTS COMPETITION

Entries to the 2026 Townsville Show Fine Arts Competition are now open! This is a section that sees local school-aged artists from around Townsville and surrounding areas submit their artwork for judging and placed on exhibit for thousands of people throughout the duration of the Townsville Show.

🎨✨ Professional Development Day Recap ✨🎨

Yesterday, the NQ Art Teacher’s Association proudly hosted a Professional Development Day for Visual Art Teachers.

We explored ways to incorporate First Nations Perspectives into the Visual Art classroom, supported by a hands-on workshop.

Discussions around the use of AI in Visual Art education opened up exciting possibilities for creativity and innovation.

Teachers engaged in a practical workshop that connected elements and principles of art with Numeracy, offering adaptable strategies from Primary through to Senior School.

The day was filled with valuable content, rich discussions, and collaborative learning that will inspire classrooms across the region.

👏 A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this day such a success!

Thankyou for all your hard work this year! Encouraging students to creatively think deeper, read their ISMG’s, consider new techniques, run workshops, co-mark and the list goes on!

Do you know who the artist is behind the multicoloured mono prints at Townsville hospital imaging dept?

They look to be indigenous inspired multi coloured mono prints.

If anyone knows who the artist is and if you have any information on the works could you please message us as we have someone interested in knowing more about the works.
