First Nations Women's Legal Free legal advice, representation and support whilst we advocate to change laws for First Nations women in Queensland.

Our priority areas are child protection, domestic violence, family and other civil areas of law. The First Nations Women’s Legal Service Qld (FNWLS) is a community based legal service developed by, and provided for, First Nations women. The FNWLS Qld provides legal assistance, advice and community legal education and seeks to enhance First Nations women’s access to justice and to promote change within the justice system, informed by the experiences of First Nations women.

Connection to community and country boosts our sense of self. Lesser spoken forms of violence include restricting a person's freedom to practice religion, spirituality, or culture. For most Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people these are at the core of who we are.
