North Shore parkrun A free, weekly, timed 5k event every Saturday morning at 7am in Burdell. Everyone is welcome to walk, run or volunteer.

North Shore parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 7am in Stockland's North Shore community, Townsville, Australia. parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5k timed run and it can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. It offers an opportunity for all the local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful surrounds and get physically active at the same time. Welcome to the wet season, Townsville! 🌴🌧️

Mother Nature turned up with rain, wind and a whole lot of attitude this morning… but did that stop North Shore parkrun? NOT A CHANCE! πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Rain or shine, wind or sideways rain… we run! Because apparently, a little weather drama is no excuse to miss our favourite Saturday morning 5K! 🀣

A HUGE welcome to our first-timers! πŸŽ‰ We hope you loved your first taste of the parkrun magic and that we’ll see you again next Saturday!

And to everyone who smashed out a PB today β€” CONGRATULATIONS! πŸ…πŸ”₯ Setting a personal best in these conditions? That deserves an extra high-five! πŸ™Œ

I must say, I was seriously impressed with today’s turnout despite the rain 🌧️ and wind πŸ’¨. You legends showed up, laced up and got it done!

Clearly, today was less about the perfect running conditions and more about character building, mental toughness and questionable life choices! πŸ˜‚πŸ’™

RD Dave may have dropped the ball with the Zooper Doopers today but we went through two full bags last week showing just how much the temperatures have gone up.

Our roster is NOT FULL and we are still looking for one very important volunteer to help us get the show on the road.

And this isn’t just any volunteer role…

⏱️ TIMEKEEPER IS A CRUCIAL POSITION.

Without a Timekeeper, we simply cannot run parkrun. 😬
