⚔️ NO MORE MR. NICE GUY. ⚔️
Somewhere along the way, men were told that being a good man meant keeping everyone happy, avoiding conflict, suppressing their needs and making themselves smaller so nobody else felt uncomfortable.
Dr Robert Glover explored this pattern in No More Mr. Nice Guy — how men can become trapped in people-pleasing, seeking approval and sacrificing their own needs in the hope that others will reward them with acceptance.
The answer isn’t to become an arrogant bastard.
It’s to become a man who knows who he is, stands by his values, takes responsibility for his actions and has the courage to be honest — even when it costs him something.
That is where real men’s work begins.
🔥 WHEN DID MASCULINITY BECOME SOMETHING TO APOLOGISE FOR?
Strength. Courage. Discipline. Resilience. Leadership. Protecting those who depend on you. Keeping your word. Taking responsibility when things go wrong.
These aren’t character flaws. They’re qualities worth developing.
Somewhere in modern culture, the conversation about toxic masculinity has too often blurred the distinction between genuinely destructive behaviour and the healthy masculine traits that help men, families and communities thrive.
Yes, men need to confront their anger, ego, entitlement and destructive habits.
But correcting unhealthy masculinity shouldn’t mean abandoning masculinity altogether.
We don’t need fewer good men. We need more men who are strong enough to be kind, confident enough to be humble, disciplined enough to control themselves and courageous enough to stand for something.
⚔️ STANDING STRONG ISN’T OPTIONAL ⚔️
Life will test you.
Your relationships will test you. Your career will test you. Fatherhood will test you. Failure, grief, temptation and adversity will test you.
You won’t always feel confident. You won’t always have the answers. And sometimes, doing the right thing will cost you the approval of people you’d rather not disappoint.
Stand anyway.
Not because you’re incapable of feeling fear, but because your principles matter more than your comfort.
Not because you never struggle, but because you refuse to let struggle define you.
Not because you have to carry everything alone, but because you understand that responsibility cannot always be handed to someone else.
Real strength isn’t pretending you’re invincible. It’s having the courage to face your weaknesses, do the work and keep moving forward.
🤝 BROTHERHOOD ISN’T A LUXURY. IT’S A NECESSITY 🤝
Too many men are trying to navigate life in isolation.
They have colleagues, acquaintances and people on their social media feeds. But when life gets hard, they have nobody they can sit across from and tell the truth.
No masks. No bull 💩 . No pretending everything is fine.
Men need other men who will challenge them when they’re making excuses, call them out when they’re heading in the wrong direction, celebrate their wins without jealousy and stand beside them when life knocks them down.
Not a circle of men who simply tell each other what they want to hear.
A circle that demands honesty, accountability, growth and action.
Brotherhood isn’t about making men comfortable. It’s about helping men become better.
Because the right men around you won’t let you settle for a lesser version of yourself.
👊 BE THE MAN YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO LOOK UP TO 👊
If you have a son, ask yourself:
What kind of man am I teaching him to become by the way I live?
Not by what you tell him. By what you show him.
Does he see a man who keeps his word? Who controls his temper? Who treats people with respect? Who stands up for what’s right? Who admits when he’s wrong and has the courage to make it right?
Does he see a man who faces adversity without taking it out on everyone around him?
And if you have a daughter, ask yourself:
Am I becoming the kind of man I would hope she one day chooses as a partner?
A man who respects her. Who makes her feel safe without trying to control her. Who is faithful, dependable, emotionally mature and strong enough to stand beside her rather than compete with her.
Our children don’t need perfect fathers. They need men who are willing to do the work.
Men who understand that character is built through daily choices, that strength comes with responsibility and that the example we set today may shape the people our children become tomorrow.
🔥 IT’S TIME TO DO THE WORK 🔥
Stop chasing approval.
Stop hiding behind excuses.
Stop confusing aggression with strength or passivity with kindness.
Take responsibility for your life. Build your character. Develop your discipline. Learn to communicate honestly. Get comfortable with difficult conversations. Surround yourself with men who challenge you to grow.
And stop believing you have to do it all alone.
We need men who stand strong without standing over others. Men who can be vulnerable without surrendering their principles. Men who can lead without controlling, protect without possessing and love without losing themselves.
Men who are building something worth passing on.
That’s what a men’s circle should be.
Not a place to complain about the world.
Not a place to blame women, society or our past for every problem we face.
A place to take ownership. To sharpen one another. To build genuine friendships. To become stronger fathers, better partners and more capable men.
A place where brotherhood means something.
Because the world doesn’t need more men pretending to be strong.
It needs men who have done the work to become strong.
If you’re ready to stop going through life alone, challenge yourself and surround yourself with men who expect more from you — find your circle.
Stand strong. Do the work. Become the man your children need you to be.
BROTHERHOOD. ACCOUNTABILITY.
INTEGRITY.
That’s the standard. ⚔️
