At NRL Cowboys House, the relationships built during school continue long after the final bell.
As young people step into further education, employment and independent living, the familiar support of Cowboys House continues through the Graduate Campus.
House graduate Mungu’s journey shows why that connection matters.
Originally from Mornington Island, Mungu now calls the Graduate Campus home as he begins shaping his life beyond school, with aspirations to pursue a career in the police force or defence.
For young people who relocate from regional communities, the path ahead can carry significant practical challenges. Rising living costs and limited access to suitable housing can make further education or training difficult to pursue, placing opportunity beyond reach despite a young person’s ability, ambition and willingness to work for it.
The Graduate Campus helps bring this opportunity back into view.
It gives former House students like Mungu a stable place to live while they establish their pathways beyond Year 12, surrounded by trusted mentors who know their stories and recognise their strengths.
Through practical support with driver licences, career development and independent living skills, the Graduate Campus also helps each young person build the confidence to take control of their futures.
Support from GREAT - Gulf Regional Economic Aboriginal Trust and Sibanye-Stillwater will help sustain this important connection for young people from Gulf communities, creating a stronger foundation for them to pursue education, training and employment.
For every young person who calls the Graduate Campus home, the journey beyond school is their own to shape, with the NRL Cowboys House community walking beside them.
