Weโ€™re on track! ๐ŸŽจ

Heatley State School students brought the energy this week as our Try For 5! Ambassador Bree Chester was welcomed for a day of laughter and learning.

To say we felt the air buzzing with excitement would be an understatement.

Amidst many smiles and enthusiastic questions, Bree caught up with students about the important role attendance plays in making the most of school life. These students then put their detective skills to work, embracing some friendly competitive spirit as they raced to spot-the-object on an Earn Your Paint inspired artwork.

Heatleyโ€™s classroom attendance charts displayed throughout the school were another highlight, proudly demonstrating the commitment of students in their effort to earn a vibrant feature wall for their community. Each day in class moves Heatley closer to its attendance goal ... and so far, weโ€™re well on track. ๐Ÿ™Œ

It was a great day out. Thanks to Heatley for the warm welcome and to National Indigenous Australians Agency along with Rex Airlines for continuing to support these Try For 5! visits.

As an Adopt-a-School ambassador, Jaxon Purdue has the opportunity to become an encouraging presence in his Rasmussen State School community, with each visit creating a space to build positive messages that the students can carry with them.

Students can meet the person behind the player, allowing them to see that goals, choices and everyday efforts matter to someone they admire.

Last Wednesday, our NRL Cowboys House community came together for the Term 3 Stakeholder Dinner.

It was a chance to slow down, share a meal and reflect on everything our students have achieved, along with welcoming our partners and donors to see how their support makes a tangible difference.

Throughout the evening some of our students led tours of their home-away-from-home, while Makere and Amaziah were the MCs during official proceedings, sharing a glimpse into their boarding journeys.

Living away from family, community and Country takes enormous courage. Yet, these young individuals continue to meet each challenge with determination, supporting each other along the way.

The evening also held an extra-special moment for our Bed Donors. We were joined by NBN Australia, The Digimen, The Rural Shop.com, Engage Marine, The Lancini Family, Tommyโ€™s Concreting and Townsville Helicopters, who visited the dorms their generous donations support.

Thank you to all our bed donors, and those who joined us! For our students, these spaces offer comfort, stability and a sense of belonging.

This win belongs to them ๐Ÿ†

Dream, Believe, Achieve has been named Community Training Initiative of the Year at the 2026 Queensland Training Awards North Queensland regional final.

While the trophy carries our name, this achievement belongs to every participant who has stepped through the door ready to build new skills, rediscover their confidence and work towards a brighter future.

Since 2015, more than 870 North Queenslanders have begun their own journey through DBA. Each one is a reminder of what can happen when someone is given an opportunity and supported to believe in themselves.

We are incredibly proud of our participants, graduates and dedicated team, together with the employers who give our participants the opportunity to take their next step.

Thank you to our presenting partner, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, and our training partners, Allara Learning and TAFE Queensland. Your support in helping us open these doors as part of Skills for Queensland's Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative has been incredible.

The final brushstrokes were completed. The meaning behind every design was ready to be shared. All that remained was the handover.

Last week, NRL Cowboys House students proudly presented their finished Indigenous Round boots to the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys players they were designed for.

After sharing in our studentsโ€™ creativity and dedication over Term 2, it was incredibly special to see each pair reach this moment.

The students took players through the cultural connections, personal stories and carefully chosen details painted into their boots. For these players, it was an opportunity to hear directly from the young artists and understand the significance of what theyโ€™ll carry when taking the field during Indigenous Round.

But the journey doesn't end on game day.

After being match-worn during Thursday's Indigenous Round clash, each pair will then be signed by the players and auctioned, with 100% of proceeds supporting NRL Cowboys House.

Every bid will help create more opportunities for the young people who call NRL Cowboys House home, making these boots more than a piece of sporting memorabilia - they're an investment in education, culture, and future success.

North Queensland, together you have made history ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

At Saturday nightโ€™s Queensland Derby, our members and supporters helped the Cowboys Community Foundationโ€™s 50-50 Charity Raffle reach a record-breaking prize pool of $157,809.

It's the biggest 50-50 raffle result ever achieved in Australian sports, surpassing the previous record set.

Congratulations to our winner, Brandi Watson, who took home $78,904.50. The remaining proceeds from the raffle will support the Foundation and its work to improve education, health, employment and social outcomes throughout North Queensland.

A record result like this doesn't happen without an incredible team.

A huge thank you to our Presenting Partner Green Energy Technologies for their continued support of the raffle, our Corporate Volunteering Partner for the evening TAFE Queensland and our amazing crew of regular volunteers. An incredible 51 volunteers supported Saturday nightโ€™s activation, bringing energy to every corner of the stadium.

We're also incredibly grateful to every person who purchased a ticket. Every ticket sold helped raise vital funds to support our life-changing programs here in North Queensland.

That is the power of the North's Rugby League community.
