The Next Generation Sequencing Machine (NGS) machine is HERE in Townsville.

The NGS will process tests for cancer here in Townsville, reducing waiting times for NQ patients from up to 6-8 weeks to as little as 24 hours.

Donation to delivery! Something incredible just arrived at Townsville University Hospital. 💛

Thanks to the generosity of our North Queensland community, Brighter Lives has delivered a $300,000 Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) machine to Townsville University Hospital - the first of its kind in regional Queensland.

What does that mean for you and your family? It means cancer and infection testing that used to take 6-8 weeks in Brisbane can now be done right here in Townsville in as little as 24 hours.

This is what happens when a community comes together. Every single donation made this a reality, creating a real local impact.

Thank you to Noor, Halima and Sadia who visited Townsville Hospital to give out soft and cuddly toys to children.

Noor, a 4th year occupational therapy student, organised the visit with her sister Sadia and friend, Halima, who are both studying medicine.

The students chose to give back to help celebrate Eid, the Festival of Sacrifice, which is a very special occasion within the Muslim community, highlighting sacrifice, generosity and giving back to the community.

Thank you for thinking of children and their families spending time in hospital. 💙💛
