Get Ready!!!!
No, not for the Grand Final tonight 😄
For us, October is all about 'getting ready' for our High Risk weather season - storms, cyclones, floods and bushfires.
You'll be hearing more from us 📢 this month but to get things started, we're at Bunnings Domain this morning and Bunnings Northshore this afternoon, with plenty of tips for young and old, o how to prepare yourself, your family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦and your home 🏡for whatever might come.
Sorry, we can't help you prepare for the outcome of tonight's Grand Final 😉

Staying connected is always important but during an emergency, it's critical to the success of our operations and safety of our people.
We're extremely grateful to principal partner Suncorp for their very generous donation of a power bank to all Qld SES volunteers - helping us to keep 'charging' on during emergencies.

7 members from Townsville SES Unit activated in response to a request for assistance with a rescue this week. A great outcome and awesome effort from all involved.

From searches to slingshots, tarping to talking (on radios) and other things that don't start with the same letters 😝 members of the Townsville Unit came together last night for the 8th Annual Townsville SES Olympics. 🏅 Qualification requirements for team selection included enthusiasm, team work and a sense of humour.
What better way to celebrate 🧡 SES week 🧡 and the theme of "Ready, Together" than with a bit of friendly competition, skills practice and learning opportunities.

From recruitment (welcome to our Golf Recruit course members) to roof work, rodeos and everything in between! It's been a busy month for our volunteers and they show no signs of slowing down!!!👷‍♀️

This week is SES week and the theme is 🧡 "Ready, Together" 🧡. It is a time to celebrate the dedication of unpaid and active volunteer members who constantly train and prepare in order to assist communities during storms, floods, and emergencies.

Thank you to all our volunteers and those who support them 👏
