201Q2 Lions District Welcome to District 201Q2 in North Queensland and Papua New Guinea. We Serve our Communities

We currently have 64 Lions Clubs plus 5 branch clubs, and 6 Leo Clubs working with the community throughout our large District. This beautiful area covers the sugar fields of the Mackay region in the south, up north to Cooktown and Weipa and stretching out west to the Gulf and Mount Isa. It includes the large industrial and administrative centre of Townsville and the major tourist centres of Cair

ns, the Atherton Tablelands, Airlie Beach, Whitsunday Islands and The Great Barrier Reef. Our District also includes Papua New Guinea which boasts five Lions Clubs, in Tabubil, Port Moresby, Madang, and Lae, all making up this very large and diversified District. Lions club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in their local community as well as in communities worldwide. Their volunteer efforts go beyond the support of vision care, to addressing unmet health and education needs worldwide. Vision “To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service”

We’d like to introduce our incoming Club President for the 2026–2027 Lions year, Austin (“Aussie”) Lanphier.

With more than 40 years as a Lion, Aussie has dedicated countless hours to serving both Lions and the wider community. His passion, commitment and willingness to get things done make him the perfect person to lead our club into another great year of service.

A huge thank you also goes to our outgoing President, Rosie, for an incredible year. Her hard work, leadership and dedication have helped make our club what it is today, and we’re so grateful for everything she’s done. You’ve left some big shoes to fill, but luckily Aussie’s been around long enough to have a pretty decent pair of his own. 😉

Here’s to another great year of service, friendship and community!
