Congratulations to Lucky on achieving his Matric (Year 12 pass)! A great reward for his hard work and dedication to his education.

We met Lucky 14 years ago in Johannesburg, South Africa and a huge thank you to all the wonderful supporters and sponsors that have helped Lucky reach this major milestone.

After being grounded through COVID, long time TRS supporters Tony and Janis were able to return to Langkawi and meet with the children sponsored by The Reading Seed!

The first visit was with Dhurai Raj who is 13 years’ old and in his first year at Secondary School. Dhuria's favourite subject at school is English and he loves football. This is our first year sponsoring Dhuria's schooling costs and after seeing how dedicated the family is to their education, we look forward to following his journey in the coming years.

Cloe and the children of the Village of Joy were the inspiration for The Reading Seed and we are very lucky to be able to continue on our journey with her through the Further Studies Scholarship.

Our Director (Teacher Emma) started working with Cloe from primary school and The Reading Seed has provided remedial teaching and now we are proud to support Cloe into the next phase of her education through the Beauty Therapy Institute to achieve her dream of becoming a beauty therapist.

After a difficult and largely disrupted 2021 in Langkawi, the children supported by The Reading Seed through The Charity Club had their school year extended through until the end of February 2022!

After a short break the children are this week returning to school for their 2022 school year, and with international borders opening we are hoping for a better year ahead for the children and people of Langkawi.

The Reading Seed looks forward to continuing to work with The Charity Club to support the education of underprivileged children of Langkawi, which is even more important than ever in these difficult times.

Hi everyone,

Due to Covid we have been very quiet, however we would like to let all our supporters know that we are still here and operating as a charity!

The organisations we support in South Africa, Peru and Malaysia have been hit particularly hard with the Covid situation and our support will be more important than ever as they recover.

We are accepting book donations for upcoming fundraising market days and continue to raise funds for our projects. We have our School Support Project running in Malaysia again this year with our other projects on stand by until the situation improves.
