Townsville Humanists

Townsville Humanists We are a welcoming group of humanists and friends who meet regularly in Townsville, North Queensland Australia. What is Humanism?

The vision of the Townsville Humanists is to create a compassionate society that values science, reasoning and critical thinking, in which secularism is guaranteed for the benefit of all citizens and humanism is promoted for the benefit of humanity. Humanism is a lifestance of personal fulfilment without belief in the supernatural. The idea that people should try to make the best decisions they ca

n based on science and reason and not on blind dogma or religion. As humans we need to take responsibility for ourselves in order to advance humanity and care for the environment we live in. Why do we meet?

- To meet and enjoy the company of like-minded people
- To learn more about humanism
- To keep up to date with local and world developments relating to humanism
- To promote humanism and humanist causes

Interested? Like this page and join our Facebook group, join in the discussions and check out our events! We meet 7pm the first Monday of each month at Aitkenvale Library Meeting Room, and 7pm the third Monday at James Cook University. We also have all sorts of social events in-between.
