Commonly called "The Pinkies" Dragons Abreast Townsville is part of the National movement of Dragons Abreast clubs who, through the team sport of Dragon boat paddling, seek to help people with a diagnosis of breast cancer understand they can lead full and active lives despite the physical limitations imposed by breast surgery. We do this by encouraging individuals to “achieve their dream” of re

gaining an active, adventurous lifestyle despite a diagnosis of breast cancer. Through our activities we seek to promote breast cancer awareness in the community by being a face to the breast cancer statistics and promoting early detection and diagnosis.

It’s about an Australian family brought together by courage, friendship and the life-changing power of dragon boating.

From every corner of Australia, we’ll paddle as one Dragons Abreast Australia family—celebrating every journey, honouring those we’ve lost, supporting those living with and beyond breast cancer, and showing the world what connection, courage and hope look like.
