Another majestic meeting tonight, Wednesday the 12th of August.

Kristy kept us on our toes with impromptu table topics and we had three courtly prepared speeches to fill out the evening. Martin reminded us of the importance of proper pest control, Leigh-Anne gave us advice on how to evaluate, and Andrew encouraged us to sieze the day.

The meeting was well conducted by our Toastmaster for the evening, Nick, and Chairman, John.

Congratulations to the following award recipients:
Martin for winning Gavel of the Gab,
Andrew for winning the Timers Award,
And Nick for winning the General Evaluators Award AND the Members Choice Award.

A great meeting that left everyone with the same thought: How good are penguins?!

Well done everyone for completing meeting #590 on Wednesday the 29th of July.

Memories and laughs were shared during our impromptu table topics and four wonderful prepared speeches provided everyone with some great stories to take home.

A big thank you for our Toastmaster of the evening, Andrew, for keeping the meeting moving and full of energy.

Another Engaging Evening at Townsville City Council Toastmasters!

Our Meeting #589 on Wednesday 22 July 2026 was filled with creativity, laughter and learning as members came together for another enjoyable Toastmasters evening.

The evening was expertly led by Toastmaster Sandra, with members participating in a range of fun and thought-provoking Table Topics, including:

• Should hibernation be allowed for humans?
• Why should penguins run the world?
• Should hot chocolate be considered a health food?
• What would your favourite winter coat say about you?

We were also treated to three inspiring prepared speeches:

• Bevin – Party in Washington 2016
• John – Twist and Turn
• Kristy – Believe In Me, Until I Can
