DANCER TIP

A talented child should never have to perform beyond their age.

Age-appropriate dance extends beyond choreography. It also includes music, costuming, movement vocabulary, performance themes, and emotional content.

A child’s technical ability does not automatically mean they are developmentally ready to portray mature concepts or perform material intended for older dancers. Thoughtful choices consider the whole child, not just their talent.

Age-appropriate performances support healthy physical, emotional, and artistic development while allowing dancers to build confidence, authenticity, and technical excellence over time.

As dancers mature, their choreography, music, costuming, and performance themes can mature with them.

Supporting development at every stage helps dancers build the skills, confidence, and artistry to thrive throughout their training.

Townsville City Council Liam Mooney for Division 9
We are very pleased to announce that we will receive a $25,000 rental fee waiver for the 2026 Townsville Eisteddfod from the Townsville City Council Community Grants program.
We are extremely grateful for the continued support of Townsville City Council over many years.
The Eisteddfod would not be able to continue to provide this opportunity for our young artists to perform in a first-grade venue without their support.

Townsville City Council’s Community Grants program continues to invest in initiatives that enrich the social and cultural across the city, with $52,000 in cash grants and fee waivers approved for four local groups at today’s General Meeting.
