🎺 MEMBER MONDAY! 🎺
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on one of the wonderful members of Brolga Brass - our Bass Trombone player, who has been part of the band for an incredible 20 years! 👏
Having joined in May 2006, just a few months after moving to Townsville, their love of brass banding goes back even further - all the way to Year 7 at school, when they first picked up the instrument and discovered the joy of making music. 🎶
🎵 Favourite music to play: You can’t go wrong with Floral Dance (as long as it’s not played too frequently!), but there’s also nothing quite like a good march - especially Voice of the Guns!
🏆 Favourite Townsville Brass memory: Performing at the 2014 Brisbane Nationals with Brolga Brass is a standout memory, while our community concerts are always a favourite too.
❤️ What they love most about the band: “I enjoy playing and the lovely people I get to play alongside.” And we’re pretty sure the feeling is mutual!
✈️ Fun fact: They love to travel and, despite what the body might say, still enjoy getting competitive when it comes to sport! 😄
🏛️ Dream performance location: The Sydney Opera House - and this one comes with a bit of history! They’ve already performed there once at an Eisteddfod while playing in their school band. How special would it be to return with Brolga Brass?
🍝 Favourite food & drink: A nice bolognaise paired with a good South Australian Shiraz. Sounds like a winning combination to us!
After two decades of music, friendship, performances and plenty of memories, we’re so grateful to have such dedicated musicians as part of our Brolga Brass family. 💙🎺
Happy Member Monday! Give our Bass Trombone legend some love in the comments! 👇
