Targeted Family Support service supports families with children, young people (unborn to 18 years) who find them

selves in vulnerable situations, to improve the wellbeing and safety of children, young people and their families and build the capacity of families to care for and protect their children and prevent entry or re-entry to the statutory child protection system. Giggle n Grow supports children from birth to 5 years, and their parents/carers, by sharing effective parent behaviour management strategies that strengthens nurtures and develops responsive parenting. With a focus on play-based activities that encourage positive parent and child interactions, Giggle n Grow strengthens the emotional and social connection between parent and child. Supporting parents/ carers to increase their confidence as parents, empowering caregivers to respond and support their child/children’s wellbeing, emotions, cultural, physical and developmental areas. Homestay supports families and individuals at risk of homelessness to maintain independent housing or gain access to long term sustainable housing, so they can have stability needed to experience wellbeing, dignity and security. The Street to Home Program supports people who are sleeping rough or experiencing chronic homelessness in the Townsville area, to move into stable long term housing. The program focuses on helping clients to make long term life-style changes so they can successfully participate in community life, education and employment where appropriate

The Red Cross Homelessness Service Hub supports vulnerable people who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness in Townsville. The Homelessness Services Hub provides planned, time-limited and solution focussed support to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We work collaboratively with specialist and mainstream services in the Townsville area to make a significant and meaningful impact on ending homelessness together. Townsville Wellbeing Centre is an accommodation centre located on Townsville General Hospital grounds for people accessing medical treatment in Townsville that live or reside in other areas. Australian Red Cross Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Regional Engagement Program’s main aim is to promote and implement various outcomes from the Australian Red Cross Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Strategy 2009-2015. Through providing advice and guidance to support North Queensland Red Cross’ cultural proficiency across its workforce, policy, program and service activities, we hope to increase building stronger relationships with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in the North Queensland region. Community-Based Health and First Aid (CBHFA) approach empowers volunteers within the prison communities to take charge of their own health. By using simple tools, adapted to respective local context, prisoners are equipped to identify, address, prioritise and respond to improve health and safety outcomes providing life-changing experiences for volunteers, the prisoner population, their families, communities and the prison staff.
