The Country Kitchens program follows five simple steps to health-a-size recipes. Over the next five weeks we will be sharing some simple tips and tricks to help you do the same with your own recipes. π©βπ³
The first step is to add more fruit and vegetables to the recipe. π

Try:
- Doubling up on the recommended amount of vegetables in your usual recipe.
- Add a can of lentils, chickpeas or beans to mince dishes, stews and curries.
- Add chopped capsicum and mushrooms or grated carrot and zucchini into spag bol; lasagna or taco mince.
- Serve main meals with steamed greens or a side salad.
- Make use of frozen vegetables and pre-made salad mixes for convenience.
- Aim to fill half of your plate with salad or vegetables.
