The irony of demanding a night free of "outside s**t" on stage is doing exactly what you say you're opposing. James Hetfield was using his platform to criticise artists using their platform.

And of course Zionists loved it.

Metallica fans have noted the entire 1988 album "...And Justice for All" is a political body of work. The title track tackles systemic legal and corporate corruption, "Blackened" deals with environmental destruction, and "One" is a harrowing look at the human cost of war.

On the exact night Hetfield made his speech demanding a night free of "outside s**t," Metallica actually performed both "One" and "Blackened".

Fact Check: The population in the Gaza Strip has dramatically decreased

The Palestinian population in the West Bank has increased, though more are made refugees after being displaced by Israeli settlers.

• Gaza Strip: Following decades of rapid growth, the population of the Gaza Strip has dramatically decreased since October 2023. The PCBS and an international study conducted by the Geneva Academy reported a 10.6% decline in Gaza's population (a decrease of approximately 254,000 people). This drop is due to tens of thousands of documented fatalities, thousands missing under rubble, a severe decline in birth rates, and the flight of around 100,000 people across borders. Furthermore, up to 70% to 90% of the remaining population has faced multiple rounds of internal displacement.

• West Bank: The Palestinian population has continued to increase overall, reaching approximately 3.43 million. However, local displacement has intensified. Reports indicate that over 40,000 Palestinians have been displaced within the West Bank since late 2023, driven primarily by expanded Israeli settler activity, demolition orders, and military operations, particularly in northern refugee camps.
