I stopped arguing a long time ago. My activism looks VERY different today than it did 4 years ago. I prioritise my energy for the change I can make, sometimes that impact is silent and no one sees or hears it (like donations or signing petitions etc).

I stopped partaking in performative activism years ago. I now focus my energy on two causes (animals and the environment) that are closest to my heart. Instead of spreading myself across too many issues, feeling burnt out and hopeless, because let’s be honest, there are SO MANY issues in our world that need attention and we won’t make any difference if we’re feeling hopeless and burnt out. Instead I give my whole heart to two issues. It doesn’t mean I don’t care about other issues or am being apathetic, it means I’ve figured out how to keep my caring sustainable. How to continue to see the world in all its chaos and to continue to love it, to continue to believe in humanity and the human spirit. It means I’ve figured out how to deeply care for the world AND how to take care of myself ❤️🩷
