Free RSA Course at Torquay Community House

If you run a club or organisation with volunteers pouring drinks at events, this one's for you. Surf Coast Shire is running a free RSA course at our place on Tuesday 15th September, 5pm to 11pm.

It's a great chance to get your volunteers certified or renew an expired RSA before your next function.

A few things to know before you register:

You'll need a USI (Unique Student Identifier). Don't have one or can't remember it? Head to www.usi.gov.au, it only takes a couple of minutes.
Register using the exact name on your USI, or the system will bounce it.
There's a short sexual harassment module to complete online after the course (about 30 minutes) before your certificate is issued.

Spots are limited, so get in early. Find the link below or in our bio to register.

Learn the art of traditional basket weaving with Aunty Helen Harrison, a Kurni elder from Lake Tyers.

Aunty Helen was taught to weave by her grandmother from the age of five, using reeds called lomandra. She's shared her craft in schools, outdoor programs and at Johnstone Park in Geelong, and now she's bringing it to Torquay Community House. Come along and make your own basket, or try something smaller and more personal like a beaded badge.

All materials supplied. No experience needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to give it a go.

Time to put our feet up with a cuppa! ☕🐱

The Surf Coast Arts Trail 2026 has wrapped, and what a weekend it was. Over 600 people visited us at Torquay Community House across Saturday and Sunday, and our artists are so grateful for your support.

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers, and a special shout out to Colin, Pat and Catherine for their demonstrations over the weekend, sharing their skills and inspiring so many people to give something new a try.

A huge thank you to Glenn and Geoff, supported by Liz, for their beautiful curation of the artworks around the House. The displays looked amazing.

And thank you to Tracey and the students from St Therese Primary School for their stunning artwork on display. We love being able to support the next generation of artists.

Until next year!
