☀️ Rockhampton Day Service has been making the most of the beautiful winter weather this week!

While much of Queensland is feeling the winter chill, our Rocky crew has been lucky enough to enjoy clear skies and warm days out in the community. From social outings and walking club adventures to a round of putt-putt and a relaxing beachside lunch, it's been a fantastic week filled with connection, laughter, and plenty of fresh air.

Here's to more sunshine, more adventures, and more great memories with the Rocky Day Service team. ☀️🏖️🚶‍♂️⛳

🚍 Toowoomba BigDog Day Service took to the road this week, heading out to Oakey for a fantastic day of adventure and discovery!

Our group visited the Oakey Army Base, where they had the opportunity to learn about military history, explore impressive machinery, and gain an insight into the important role the Australian Defence Force plays within our communities.

Of course, no BigDog adventure would be complete without a challenge! After a morning of learning and exploring, the team put their appetites to the test with some enormous burgers and plenty of laughs along the way.

Community outings like these provide valuable opportunities to build confidence, develop social skills, learn new things, and create lasting memories with friends.

We can't wait to see where our next adventure takes us! 🍔🚍⭐

🌿 ROCKHAMPTON DAY SERVICE – INTO THE WILDERNESS 🌿

Our Rockhampton Day Service has been embracing the great outdoors with our Social Outings & Walk Club! 🚶‍♂️🌞

Participants have been heading out into nature to explore local walking tracks, enjoy fresh air, and experience the calming benefits of the wilderness. These outings are all about building confidence, encouraging movement, and supporting meaningful community participation.

Walking together not only supports physical health, but also helps with:
✔ Social connection and friendships
✔ Emotional regulation and wellbeing
✔ Building confidence in community access
✔ Improving fitness, strength, and endurance
✔ Creating positive routines and healthy lifestyle choices

Every step outside is a step toward growth, independence, and wellbeing 💙

🎉 A huge thank you to the Rockhampton Aged Care & Disability Expo for hosting such a fantastic event!

We would also like to thank all of the amazing community members, families, support coordinators, and local businesses who stopped by to speak with Marvin and Macka throughout the day. It was great connecting with so many people and sharing information about the supports and services available within our community.

The day was a great success, and we highly recommend that other businesses and organisations get involved next year! 👏

🌿 ADVENTUREs WITH OUR ROCKHAMPTON DAY SERVICE! 🌞

Our Rockhampton Day Service has been making the most of the beautiful weather with recent outings, including a fantastic trip to Pebble Beach where participants enjoyed the sunshine, fresh air, and natural surroundings 🌊✨

We offer 1:1 and 1:3 social group activities, providing community access and supported adventures tailored to each individual.

These outings are more than just fun, they support:
🌱 Building independence and confidence
🤝 Developing social and communication skills
🌍 Community engagement and inclusion
💪 Trying new experiences in a safe, supported environment
😊 Improving wellbeing through movement, nature, and connection

What an adventure our week has been so far at Toowoomba Day Service!

We kicked things off with a shopping trip to grab all our groceries for the week and get ready for cooking class. Safe to say, everyone was very excited about the food choices along the way.

Our cooking class was a huge hit, with everyone making delicious fruit shakes that were healthy, refreshing, and honestly tasted better than anything from a café.

We also put our brains to the test with some animal trivia. There may have been a little too much confidence in some answers and a lot of yelling at the TV when we “definitely knew that one.”
The wet weather brought plenty of laughs too, especially with our very own Rain Man Will showing off his dance moves and keeping everyone entertained.

To top it all off, we relaxed together and took in the beautiful view of Table Top. A perfect mix of fun, laughs, teamwork, and great memories already, and the week isn’t over yet!
We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings at Toowoomba Day Service.
