A sensational strawberry 🍓 display on the Country Kitchens showcase stand. The scones were great too. 😉🍓

Congratulations and thank you to Barbara Harth and her executive team, Carol, Wendy, Shirley, Lesa, Pam and Maria on handing over to the incoming Executive a growing and positive entity 👏
The Executive would not have been able to have such a productive and successful year without the support of each and every member of the Division and all our supporters, a huge thank you to each of you.

We were treated to a morning of positivity, friendship, accomplishment and acknowledgement and of course good food.

Members were introduced to a very special organisation Common Ground Foundation who are supporting people from rural Queensland which is very much aligned with QCWA philosophy.

We were privileged to have visitors and guests including State Vice President Sue Ballie, Cr Melissa Taylor and Cr Tim McMahon and Liz representing Garth Hamilton MP and Beth from QCWA Border Division join us.

Congratulations to our incoming Executive team, Natalie, Barbara, Loretta and Maria.

Thank you to all our members and visitors for being part of and contributing our 81st Annual General Meeting.

Congratulations to all those present and past that have served and ensured that QCWA continues to lift, love and laugh.

🎉🎂 Happy 104th Birthday, QCWA! 🎂🎉

Today we celebrate 104 years of the Queensland Country Women's Association.

Since our founding on 11 August 1922, QCWA has been a powerful voice for Queensland women and a steadfast supporter of regional, rural and remote communities.

💙 Some milestones from our remarkable history:

🌻 1922 - QCWA is established to improve conditions and opportunities for women and families living in country Queensland.

🌻 1920s - Branches rapidly spread across the state, creating vital social connections and advocating for better healthcare, education and services.

🌻 1930s & 1940s - Members support communities through the Great Depression and World War II, providing practical assistance, comfort and care.

🌻 Decades of advocacy - QCWA campaigns for improved maternal and child health services, education opportunities, transport, communications and rural healthcare.

🌻 Supporting communities through disasters - From droughts and floods to cyclones and bushfires, QCWA members have continually stepped up to help Queenslanders in times of need.

🌻 Preserving traditions - Generations of members have shared skills through handcraft, cooking, cultural and educational programs that continue to thrive today.

🌻 Looking to the future - QCWA continues to advocate for issues impacting women and communities, including housing affordability, ageing into poverty, health services and community wellbeing.

For 104 years, QCWA members have embodied friendship, service and resilience. From the bush to the beach, our strength has always been our people and our commitment to making a difference.

Don't let soft apples go to waste! 🍎
