We had an incredible time celebrating National Science Week with our community!
On 15 August, we headed outside for an unforgettable ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐˜‡๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ก๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜ with Perth Observatory ๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿ”ญ. With some seriously impressive telescopes on hand, everyone had the chance to explore the night sky and discover more about the stars and planets above us. We also kept everyone fed with a free sausage sizzle!๐ŸŒญโœจ

Then, during Kids Club on Thursday 20 August, the science fun continued with ๐—ฆ๐—ง๐—˜๐—  ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†! ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ The kids got stuck into a range of exciting experiments and activities, with Heidi from the library also joining us. Heidi, who was previously a microbiologist, brought along microscopes and helped the kids take a closer look at the fascinating world of science ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿฆ .

Yesterday, the Shire of Toodyay team attended the Jobs and Skills SMYL Wheatbelt Careers Expo in Northam.

Kyla, our CRC Coordinator, and Michelle, our Economic Development Coordinator, spent the day meeting students, job seekers and local organisations, and chatting about volunteer opportunities with the Shire.

Volunteering is a wonderful way to get involved in your community, meet new people, build confidence and share your skills. Whether you have a little time to spare or would like to support something close to your heart, there may be an opportunity for you.
