The mission for Safe and Scenic Toodyay Roads is to:
PRESERVE THE SCENIC VALUE AND IMPROVE THE SAFETY OF TOODYAY ROADS THROUGH ALTERNATIVE METHODS TO WIDESPREAD CLEARING AND MAJOR REALIGNMENTS. Current roadworks taking place between Jingaling Brook Road and Lovers Lane on Toodyay Road has caused environmental destruction not anticipated by the Toodyay and surrounding community. Despite the appoint

ment of a Community Reference Group there was little detailed description, adequate pictorial presentation or discussion and debate about what was being planned in the Toodyay Road upgrade project. We do not believe this level of destruction of beautiful rural scenery and native bush that contributes to the value of Toodyay as a destination, is neither necessary nor justified in order to improve road safety.
