That is a wrap for 2025 Tahoe Close Christmas Lights .
To all the lovely people who visited us during the period 1 December to 24 December... Thank you and we sincerely hope you enjoyed the experience and community spirit of Tahoe Close.
To every resident in Tahoe Close... You are the most amazing, kind and giving bunch of people and it is great living amongst these individuals in the best street on the planet. You turn up kerbside each year. Your Christmas lights get better and better - they will soon be able to see us from space.
To the residents in the surrounding streets... We truly appreciate your patience and tolerance of the chaos that our lights cause. We pressured the council for traffic management support but it isn't easy to get because of the costs. Signage was provided but it was completely ignored by visitors. We will try again next year.
To Distortion Street Cars.. Thank you. What an amazing night mid December. Crazy but great fun.
To the City of Gosnells Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade not only for their visit with Santa on board but also for their invaluable assistance the night of the Distortion Cars
To Sydney the basketball playing Elf.. What do we say about you other than you are amazing. Night after night without fail you fronted with trolley full of basketballs and gave every kid a chance and encouragement regardless of their ability.
Our very own Belle.. Thank you and to your understudy who stepped into the role and the yellow dress. We also had a mini Belle one night which was rather cute to see.
Kevin and Vicki... Your support is so so much appreciated. Not only with helping decorate the couple of houses that needed help and filling up gaps in the street lights but your management of the FB page was brilliant. And each night you were kerbside with your flasks of 'coffee'.
We had two Lions Club Christmas Cake stalls which was fantastic. They were both well supported and raised much needed funds for respective causes. One was run by Peter and Teresa (Tahoe residents) and the other by Marilyn (friend of Cheryl - Tahoe resident).
The basketballs, snow, bubbles, gingerbread house, reindeers and sleigh, snowmen, Bluey and Bingo have now been retired until next year. It has been a HUGE December.
A few statistics -
We estimate approx 25000 visitors in the 24 nights that we were lit up
1527 lettters posted to Santa thru the North Pole Express Postbox and some of those letters received replies from Santa
Just over 2000, glow bands handed out and we were only handing out Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The lovely neighbours at no 13 handed some out on other nights at that number is higher than 2000.
At least 3 bottles of bubble mix every night.. Sometimes more. Estimated over 70 litres of bubble mix.
Litres and litres is snow mixture.
We don't actively seek fund raising but special thanks to a few people who did some fund raising and have included it in our street win for disbursement to various charities.
Cheryl and her sister for their popcorn stand on the night of the Fire Brigade visit. Huge success. $300 raised there.
Again Cheryl for securing a $400 donation from the ice-cream van business owner. The ice-cream van itself was so so popular.
