Dr Charissa has recently returned to working in Melbourne after spending a number of years in Aboriginal health in regional Victoria. She completed her medical degree through Monash University in Gippsland in 2012, before undertaking pre-vocational training in metropolitan Melbourne and later specialising in General Practice.
Dr Charissa became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2018 and has since developed broad experience in delivering person-centred care across all stages of life.
Dr Charissa has particular interests in womenโs and childrenโs health, antenatal care, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and the management of chronic illness.
In her role as Medical Director, Dr Charissa is passionate about improving health outcomes for patients and the broader community. She is also committed to supporting the next generation of doctors through teaching, mentoring and clinical supervision.
Outside of work, Dr Charissa enjoys hiking, running, traveling and spending time with her family, including her much-loved therapy dog, Akita, who may occasionally make a special appearance during consultations where appropriate and welcomed by patients.
Dr Charissa will be working clinically in Thomastown on Mondays and Baluk Balert Barring in Frankston on Wednesdays.
