CACL recently had the opportunity to welcome a group of our apprentices to the new site at Gepps Cross for its official launch.

It was a great chance to reconnect, hear about their progress, and see them proudly representing CACL alongside the Premier, the Minister for Education, Skills and Training, and the SA Skills Commissioner.

This photo captures Civil Train SA - RTO 45621 Director of Training, Zac Slade with Bonnie, who is currently hosted with BDT Construction SA.

Bonnie is thriving in her role and speaks highly of both the work she’s doing and the crew she’s part of, exactly what we aim to see for all of our apprentices.

Congratulations to Riley on successfully completing his Civil Construction Apprenticeship with Davison Contractors Pty Ltd.

Completing an apprenticeship is a significant achievement and reflects Riley’s commitment, hard work, and dedication over the past few years. It’s great to see another skilled civil construction worker entering the industry.

A sincere thank you to Davison Contractors Pty Ltd for their ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of civil construction professionals, and to Civil Train SA - RTO 45621 for providing the training and support throughout Riley’s apprenticeship.

Pictured with Riley are Justin Finlay from Civil Apprenticeships and Careers Ltd and Zac Slade from Civil Train.

Well done Riley, and all the best for the next stage of your career in civil construction. 👏

Valuable to attend today’s CITB South Australia Mature Age & Female Apprentice Research Forum, sharing insights from research delivered in collaboration with The University of Adelaide and exploring what it means for South Australia’s building and construction workforce.

Hearing from Holly Willcox and Professor Nancy Arthur reinforced both the opportunity and the urgency to better attract and support mature-age and female apprentices across our industry.

Looking forward to the continued conversation between industry, government and training providers as this work progresses.

Great to see progress at Outer Harbor, where Maritime Constructions Pty Ltd is repairing a 70‑metre section of the breakwater near Bird Island.

Our apprentice Nicole has been gaining valuable experience on this project, mainly on the tipper, with some time on the excavator too. A solid step forward in her civil ops skills.

Thanks to Maritime Constructions for supporting apprentice development on real industry projects.

Proud to highlight our apprentice Bodhi, who is currently contributing to the construction of the new $175 million Tudor Vale Retail Centre in Munno Para West with host Davison Earthmovers.

This major development includes a new Coles‑anchored shopping centre, more than 500 new homes, a 6,420m² retail precinct and over 200 jobs created during construction.

It’s fantastic to see our apprentices gaining hands‑on experience on projects that will shape the future of Adelaide’s northern communities. Great work, Bodhi; your effort, attitude and commitment continue to stand out. Seen here with CACL apprentice Fergus.

We’re excited to welcome Ben, who has officially commenced his apprenticeship and is being hosted by Bella Build & Design at a building lot development in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

Ben is getting hands-on experience from day one, learning practical skills on a live project and starting what we’re sure will be a solid career in the construction industry.

A big thank you to Bella Build & Design for supporting apprentices and investing in the future workforce.

We’re pleased to welcome Nick to the civil construction industry as he starts his apprenticeship with BDT Construction SA, working on a new housing subdivision at Evanston Gardens.

Nick will gain hands-on experience in a live civil environment, contributing to the delivery of essential infrastructure that supports growing communities. Projects like this are where apprentices build practical skills, confidence and a solid understanding of how civil construction comes together on the ground.

Great to welcome Daniel to the civil construction industry as he officially commences his apprenticeship 👏

Daniel will be working with BMD Group, delivering civil subdivision works at Playford Alive’s Newton Boulevard precinct in Munno Para. The project includes installation of stormwater and water mains, construction of new streets and services, and supporting the Newton Boulevard extension through to Stebonheath Road, all part of Renewal SA’s broader housing program.

This is exactly the kind of real-world, large-scale infrastructure environment that gives apprentices a strong foundation for their careers. We’re looking forward to supporting Daniel as he develops his skills and grows within the industry.

The final Civil Connect magazine for the year, published by CCF SA, features an article on our very own Georgia Sturtzel.

We had the privilege of writing this piece under the theme Renew, Restart, Refresh, and Georgia’s journey captures that sentiment perfectly, resilience, growth and backing yourself in a tough industry.

If you haven’t had a read yet, you can find it on page 52 of the magazine here:

Well done Georgia, we’re proud to share your story 👏

Being part of CACL since inception, our Finance Manager, Nary Tan has played a critical role in shaping the organisation and supporting our people over the past six years.

She is, without question, the most important person in our organisation, after all, she’s the one who pays us all 😉💰

Beyond keeping the wheels turning and the numbers in line, she brings dedication, calm and an unwavering commitment to making sure our people and apprentices are supported, paid, and paid correctly (which we all agree is essential).

Thank you for six years of hard work, loyalty and for keeping CACL running smoothly behind the scenes. We honestly don’t know what we’d do without you and we’re very glad we don’t have to find out.

Congratulations on this milestone and here’s to many more years ahead 👏
