Celebrating two outstanding volunteers from RDAA member, Riding for the Disabled in the Top End.

Congratulations to Tabby, who was recognised by Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro in the 2025 awards for her dedication and contribution. From daily horse care to supporting lessons and maintaining facilities, Tabby’s work helps ensure every session runs safely and smoothly for riders.

A special congratulations also to Grace, recipient of the Chief Minister’s Youth Volunteer of the Year Award. Volunteering five days a week, Grace’s commitment, initiative, and compassion make a remarkable impact across the program. Her calm and inclusive approach supports riders of all abilities, while her dedication to horse care and teamwork strengthens the entire RDA Top End community.

Together, Tabby and Grace embody the spirit of RDA - creating inclusive opportunities, supporting riders, and making a lasting difference.

Last week at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, RDAA Executive Officer Jasmine Ousman presented at the ASC Participation Leaders Network (PLN) Conference alongside Sally Wiseman (Pony Club Australia) and Michelle Clough (Equestrian Australia).

Together, they shared the exciting progress of their coaching alignment work and how this strong partnership is being recognised and celebrated across the sector. Through this collaboration between Equestrian Australia, Pony Club Australia and Riding for the Disabled Australia, they are supporting Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) across the three organisations, developing cross-accreditation pathways for coaches, encouraging greater collaboration and coach sharing, and creating enhanced career opportunities across the equestrian community.

They also showcased the success of Canter Con as a direct outcome of this partnership and shared vision.

The PLN Conference brought together more than 140 attendees from over 70 NSOs/NSODs and 17 affiliate organisations, creating a valuable opportunity to connect, learn and share ideas shaping the future of sport participation in Australia.
