We don’t see him as often but PP Max Kuhn clocked over 40 years in Rotary this month. In his presidential year RSRC was awarded best club in District. Club is still in great hands with recent Club Excellence Award

RAWCS - Rotary Australia World Community Service has established an appeal fund for the Nepal flood disaster.
The flooding has left affected families without homes, possessions, and livelihoods, and has raised concerns about the spread of waterborne diseases due to damaged water and sanitation infrastructure.
Funds will assist projects and Rotary Clubs with projects in Nepal, responding to assist families and the communities to recover.

Big attendance at rotary last night with focus on Rotary Youth Exchange -D9560 programme. Carmen spoke of her home in Valencia and then joined with Skyla to discuss their recent orientation camp in Yeppoon. We look forward to following both girls journeys.

Good News – 9 day old baby travels from the Solomons for urgent surgery
This story is a powerful reminder of what compassion, partnership, and rapid action achieves for our children and saves lives.

Baby Xinyue was diagnosed with a tracheo‑oesophageal fistula, a life‑threatening condition requiring urgent surgery. As soon as her referral reached ROMAC last week, and thanks to swift coordination across our network, mother and baby were flown from Honiara by Friday afternoon, with a medical es**rt. Their journey was to be first to Brisbane, then to Canberra, where our ACT ROMAC Chair and a skilled paediatric surgical team were ready for them.
The late arrival into Brisbane meant the connecting flight to Canberra was missed. In an extraordinary display of collaboration, paediatric surgeons in both Canberra and Brisbane worked together to ensure Xinyue received immediate care. She was transferred from the airport to the Queensland Children’s Hospital but her condition changed overnight making travel to Canberra unsafe. Queensland Children’s Hospital stepped in without hesitation, and provided the urgent surgical treatment she needed.

Such a worthwhile Rotary programme

Stephanous Major, a 4 month old baby child from the Solomon Islands was successfully treated for intra-abdominal teratoma in Brisbane and is now home. His mum says: 'I want to thank the hard working Drs. and Nurses and specifically Prof. Kimble of the Queensland children's hospital who have helped us during the surgery and overall our stay in the hospital...your kind hospitality, effort and expertise have resulted in my sons successful surgery and recovery. May God bless your gifted hands and may it be always a blessing to every children you touched."
And huge thanks to Sebastian Ilala and the Rotary Club of Honiara for all their help.
