We held our cane toad bust last night and collected a total of … drum roll please … 274 cane toads πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸŽ‰
That is 27 more than our bust two years ago where we caught 247 (I believe this is called an anagrammed number when the same digits are rearranged πŸ€“).

Thank you to all the gap locals who gave up a couple of hours on their Sunday night to help our native wildlife πŸ‘ It was lovely to meet you all.

Thank you also to Brisbane City Council Habitat Brisbane, Cr Steven Toomey, Save Our Waterways Now and Watergum for their support in running this event.

Our next working bee is Sunday 15th Feb 8am - 10am and we meet near the dog parks. Hope to see you there!

We planted 800 seedlings in about 40mins thanks to all the lovely people of The Gap who came down to help πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ™πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

If you’re interested in being a part of our regular working bees held once a month on a Sunday morning please get in touch and we’ll add you to our database.

Next working bee is the 23rd Nov 8am-10am. We meet near the dog parks.

Huge thanks to Brisbane City Council for the grant money that funded the removal of the w**d trees on our site and the purchase of the seedlings. Habitat Brisbane provided the mulch and dug the holes. They also provided the fertiliser tabs and the water crystals that will give our little plant babies the best start in life.

Elizabeth Watson-Brown - Greens MP for Ryan provided the delicious breakfast which was gratefully received by all - thank you!

Save Our Waterways Now provided equipment and much needed support and auspiced the grant for us - thanks a bunch SOWN!

Thank you to Cr Steven Toomey for his hard work on the tools this morning and Jonty Bush - Member for Cooper for popping by and lending a hand with getting the word out. It was great to have you all there.

But the biggest thabks have to go to the members of our wonderful community who gave up some of their weekend to help β€” it was the true embodiment of many hands make light work πŸ’ͺ

Now we hope for some good rain! 🀞🏼
